Jaime's tally as of 8:45pm CST

Nov 2 Receipt

70 - pending review = 47%

52 - approvals = 35% 51 occurred before or on 10 Dec 1 occurred on 11 Dec total of 0 or 0% happening in the past 3 days

26 - RFE = 26% 12 occurring on the 17th/18th of Dec 6 occurring on the 15th of Dec total of 18 or 69% happening in the past 3 days

3 - Returned

Good bet that anyone (such as myself) that has a receipt date of Nov 2 and no NOA2 as of today can be expecting a RFE.

I don't know if you can extend this to other dates. In that all approvals occur within the 4 days of the VJ predicted date, anything beyond that is most likely a RFE.

Jaime's tally as of 8:45pm CST

This is my raw data of my Nov 2 sampling

Notice Explaining USCIS' Actions Was Mailed: 3

Case Was Rejected Because I Did Not Sign My Form: 1

Case Was Approved: 56

Document Was Returned To USCIS: 2

Withdrawal Acknowledgement Notice Was Sent: 1

Case Was Received: 75

Request for Additional Evidence Was Mailed: 21

Name Was Updated: 3

I just use the received to approved ratio, as those that have RFEs issued should have been notified and are not biting their nails like the people that only have received an NOA1 and nothing else so far.

Your Goal is to find around 150 I-129 for your receipt date (not NOA1 date)

Start with your Receipt number by adding/subtracting 100 until the receipt date changed. So that gave me my higher and lower limit point for receipt date. You will find some mixture of dates, so you depending on how accurate you want to get you'll need to try numbers, such as at a rate of 25 to have more accuracy.

Then I looked for the I-129 by playing "who sunk my battleship". The I-129 petitions are clustered. So when you hit one you chase it up and down until the cluster runs out. You go several number past the end point to verify. A good indicated that you are close to a cluster is I-130. If you hit those then you know you are close to I-129s.

I put them all into a Excel spread sheet. 3 columns. Col 1 = Receipt Number Col 2 = Action date (Receipt date/NOA1/NOA2/Denial/RFE) Col 3 = Action (NOA1/NOA2/Denial/RFE/Notice of Action) Then I color coded them. Yellow NOA1 Green NOA2 Beige RFE

It'll take you several hours to do this, there are on average 4500 visa applications submitted every day. Of those only around 150 are I-129 (per day)

Thank you for the explanation, I will spend the morning doing this tomorrow. This is probably a dumb question, but where do you find the actual data? Like the 150 applications to populate the excel sheet? (What website?)

USCIS case status website.

It does take time to get it set up. If you are like me, life on hold until we're together, then time isn't an issue. Time is its own 'hell', as I'm powerless to do anything. So it gives me the impression I am doing something. Perception is 90% reality.

And in the evenings I update it, which takes less and less time to do as cases get cleared.

I am on the same boat, time is still now until together. I will follow the steps and hopefully by Monday I'll have a good start on it.
