I got notification of noa2 dec 11 and it came in mail dec17.

When should I start calling nvc? And what number do I call?

Once I get a case number? What happens? And what exactly is being sent to my house ? My lawyer kinda explained it but I'm kinda confused

I read all what you guys say and yea.. our hopes get smaller each day, unfortunatelly. It's so unfair that all of us, petitioners & beneficiaries, have to struggle and be punished by what ONE mad disgraceful couple did. Loving someone from no matter where is a right, specially in a free country as the US.

I'm not saying the government is wrong in being more strict and even blocking new applications for a while, but all of us here applied for the visa BEFORE this dreadful incident, so why shatter our hopes and dreams once we're already onboard?

The right thing to do, as mentioned above, is to stop accepting applications from a certain date on, so couples who are expecting their fiancé(e)s to start a new life together don't get unfairly punished.

Whaaat! Congratulations!!

No, I only received e-mail notification for NOA1.

I found out that I was approved with my phone app that checked my status regularly, but I did not receive e-mail.

I recommend everyone should create an USCIS account and enter case number, then you can select what notifications to get. Had I done that, I am sure I would have gotten e-mail.

Thank you Jaime. Just by reading this thread over the past month, you can really see the love people have for their significant other. It would be a shame if they punished the true love we have because of 1 incident. Some people need to realize that millions of people have come over from other countries on a K-1 Visa for the right reasons. It makes me think of that saying, "Humans fear what we don't understand". I think a lot of people fear the process because they don't know about it.

you are absolutely correct.

We are familiar with cars, so the 32,000 deaths per year from driving in a car does not suggest a "pause" "halting" or "overhaul" of the Driver's License program. Never mind immediate stop to any car usage until this is fixed--to protect the US citizen.

The CDC reports that water-related deaths between 2005/2009 averaged 10 per day. Sounds like we need to stop people from swimming. In fact there needs to be a "pause" "halting" or "overhaul" of swimming use and construction. CDC went on to report that minorities have a higher rate of deaths than whites. Hmmm sounds like this is a matter for our minority leaders to get behind, it is obviously being overlooked by the white establishment as not caring for minority life. Minority life matter.

Yes if we are familiar with something there is no fear, so if there is incident related to it, no one thinks twice. It just happens. And we move on......

Congratulations God bless. Eventually we will all have our NOA2. Patience always works even if it seems painful.

ouch, ouch, dang, ouch, ouch, ouch... Me taking the Visa Journey trail barefoot over broken glass...

A bit of good news for myself. I am doing something, which is always good for distraction.

I was thinking (always a bad thing) that perhaps we might be asked for police background for Djibouti-even though she never stayed there longer than 4 months at a time, and there is no 'visa' requirements between Djibouti and Ethiopia (Visa Wavier program between the two countries); so no documentation of her ever being in Djibouti. Travel was by bus.

And I never lived there for 365 days. But still because of the heighted sense of security they may ask me for police background for that country. And I had no idea how I was going to do that. I have no ambition to go there, and I didn't want her to go there either--rioting in Ethiopia, and political crack down in Djibouti.

A very good friend calls me, just like that, tells me he is back in Djibouti (he is Djiboutian) on vacation from his job in South Africa--which I helped him get 5 years ago (he is making a lot of money). I ask him if he can get me police background certificates for Aisha and I. And today he called me and told me he spoke with the chief of police, and they can do it! Not normally done for non-residents, but for him they would do it. He'll DHL it to me on Monday.

Check box ticked off

Excitement with the USCIS app. The case 1 number higher than mine just received a RFE. But the date shows Dec 17. Interesting that it just updated.

You can begin calling the NVC for your case number 2 weeks after getting the notification of the NOA2. Once you have the case number you can begin the next steps. But first, two things, the case number is used to move the process a little faster but you need to go to the website of the Embassy that you will be processing through and read up on the process and whether you can move it along. Second, if you have a lawyer that you paid, I suppose they will begin the process once they receive the NOA2 and will advise you on your next step. Seems to me, since you paid for their services, I would think you would be asking them what they are going to do next. Just my observation.

Please finish your profile as it will tell us what Embassy your processing through and what visa you are chasing.

Go to the top right of this page select your name>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

hey guys what smart phone app are you using to track your case i would like to use to follow my case as well.

The links for the smartphone app and registering at myUSCIS is in my signature box below. Once you are at my website for the links, take a look around as I have created a step by step guide for those who are processing through the Philippines. I list the steps, show you where to get the forms, give you "real world" help and help you avoid the "gotchas". You know those crazy things that cause RFE's, setbacks and start overs.

It's all FREE.

Good luck on your journey.
