My apology to add cold water to the excitement along with the holidays. But important to manage our expectations so we are not disappointed, or stressed during this time period.

Beginning on 21 Dec there will be a significant reduction in work production, along with the short work week. The 23rd will probably be 1/2 a day, 24 and 25 zero. And of course the vacations, which will reduce staffing.

Review of your petition during the next 3 weeks will be dependent on which box your petition is sitting, if your reviewer is there or not.

Do not forget it is not first in-first out.

Just don't stress over it--- tis the season

30% chance.

I am seriously hoping you receive yours this week (as in tomorrow). That would be proof enough for me that the processors can multitask between Christmas distractions and work. So hopefully I will see NOA2 by the 24th.

Wait,,, Drats, I forgot about New Years!! :bonk: Egg Nog planning events are already being discussed in my neighborhood circle of friends.

Okay, realistically I should be looking at the first week of January

Haha you are just hating on that VJ estimates i can tell. This is your week! Hang in there.

How can you tell?

I do have my prediction on the date I'll have the Visa completed. And still on track for that date. So I shouldn't be 'hating' so much. I knew it was only a wild-a__ guesstimator.

If anyone knows a smart computer app coder the USCIS case tracker would be a good one to set up, to provide a better estimate. USCIS doesn't check for 'robots', so the app could query all the cases in a date, and provide a real time tracker. Not relying on people to be updating timeline. Same as I did for the Nov 2 receipts.

you and me both.

All things are possible. Pick the 1st week of January, and when it gets here before then you are pleasantly surprised.

My thoughts exactly.

I was searching last night for an app like that. Found a link to one that claimed to do just as you described. They claimed that the app polled ever 24 hours. Of course the link was broken.

Well, your post made me sit down and write a small program to mine the USCIS database a bit.

I sampled 200 petitions from November 12

98 were I-129F petition, of these:

89 were in NOA1

7 were in NOA2

1 was in RFE

1 had mail returned to USCIS

Maybe this gives us a better idea. I don't really want to tax their system too much, but if anybody wants a sampling from around their NOA1 date, I'll be happy to oblige.

Everyone please stand and take note: Smart person in the room!

You're awesome. I pay you homage.

Very cool. 98 is a good number. If we assume 150/day average (35,000/year---240 working days).

10% for Nov 12

I didn't look at all petitions from November 12, I actually looked at WAC1690139000 - WAC1690139200

The numbering system must have changed to pure sequential, because it does not match the information on this site.

you are correct. It is sequential. Nov 2 run from 104720 to 109625.

I found on the fringes of the numbering there are mixed dates, such as Oct 29 mixed in with Nov 2. Also the 2 digits in front of the sequential for example "10" correspond to something other than date.

I have set my mind to believe that I will receive my noa2 on Dec.30. So if I receive it sooner that's great. And if I don't I will just go into a depression and start crying to all y'all vj members.

Also it seems similar types of petitions and statuses are lumped together indicating some form of batch processing. Just had dozens of sequential "Rejected, because of incorrect free", sequential "received at local office", sequential "Fingerprint fee received"

You and I both...

With the drought in Ethiopia the electricity is sporadic (hydro-electric), which makes the normally bad phone service even worse. Never mind internet. So I can't even talk with her on a daily basis to keep me calm.

I'm beyond hyperventilating. Grey hair coming in fast, acid reflex started, headaches.

Jaime... Let's hope for the best. Don't stress too much. We have to claim it that it'll be coming out real soon.

Though I feel you. It's really hard to wait :| he was with me last year during the holidays but now I'll be spending it without him. :|
