thanks for the information

i hope they approve it, however in the meantime i will have my fiance send another photo

out to me asap.[/quote

I have never heard of anybody getting a RFE because of the size of a photo. And I have checked the list of RFE list.

Referral to the RFE list was more for the lack of signatures on the forms and letters, but it is possible an incorrect size would cause an RFE. All I was saying is that for me, I would be rather safe than sorry and have the photos ready just in case.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself (haven't even received the hard copy of the NOA1 yet), but can someone please explain: I understand the I-129F (once approved), is sent to NVC who then sends it to the beneficiary's U.s Embassy.
Is the next step to wait for the checklist (is this called packet 3)? And if so, does packet 3 require the affidavit and other tax documents?

I feel I am so well versed about the first half of this, but fairly lost with the next steps!

I'm sure I will be corrected. So here is a preliminary:

After the NOA2 is received you will get a number from the NVA. This number is used for follow on documents such as the 160, which is the actual application for the Visa. There is some differences between embassy's, each has specific that have been determined based upon that location; and somewhat on the Consulate Officer. So you will need to reference your country's specifics for what is required.

Typically the next information provided, packet 3, is as you said a checklist. The checklist is for documents the beneficiary will take to the interview, along with the originals of the petition.

Important is to rely on the specific items referenced for your embassy which is found here at VJ.

Still muddy? As you move along, it will become clearer. Try reading all this information with a glass of Jameson, that will help.

Hard copy noa2 in the mail today yaaay

Congrats! Got our hard copy NOA1 today too...definitely makes it feel more official.

It's not going to be a legal issue in the "near" future. The Federal Government (Congress) creates the laws concerning immigration and naturalization. If changes are going to made to the vetting process, it will not be any time soon. Of course individual states have certain powers as well. You probably know the process... nothing happens over night. Besides, Obama's powerful pen will prevent any hint of discrimination against Muslims.

But you asked "Would the events of the past month influence the USCIS reviewer". The reviewers are human and the events from last month did happen in California (on their dirt). I could see the reviewer taking a closer look.

I'm very worried about what this means for all of us too...especially those with fiancees from certain countries and/or religious backgrounds. Trying to let it go (or just distract myself) since we can't do anything but wait, but it's tough when EVERYONE in the last few days has been asking me how it's going to affect us/if am I worried it will affect us... :(

That is great too hear.

I just sent a message to my gal in the Philippines to have her get 2x2's just in case. The head to chin dimensions are correct in the ones I sent but they were not 2" wide.

Better safe than sorry.
