So who is expecting their NOA2 this week?

Our timeline says to expect ours Dec 10th-13th! So hopefully it happens this week. :-)

I found this today from an online article:

Here's what Obama said, according to an unofficial transcript:

"We constantly examine our strategy to determine when additional steps are needed to get the job done. That's why I've ordered theDepartments of State and Homeland Security to review the visa waiver program under which the female terrorist in San Bernardino originally came to this country."

The official White House transcript struck out the word "waiver."

White House spokesman Eric Schultz said Obama simply "misspoke," and he has ordered a review of both the visa waiver program and the fiance visa, formally known as a K-1 visa.

Please let us be accepted first!

I heard the 'error'. Made me sick when he said it, because that makes it seem like the K-1 has no verification. The general public thinks it is easy to get into the US on a K-1, as if it was a 'waiver'. By misstating wavier puts into the mind that the K-1 is a wavier.

Only hope there isn't an immediate 'stop' or 'slow' down order issued to the staff. I would think that it would impact us at the consulate office, where they would be vetting the beneficiary. Especially with so many people wanting to point a finger at the CO.

There is nothing wrong with the process as it is now. Whether a bad person comes in under a K-1, tourist, student, marriage, visa doesn't mean the visa process doesn't work. In fact it did work, because the government had a complete file on that lady. They were able to back track her in a day.

We petitioners are held to a higher standard than what is going to be done for the Syrians, because we as the US petitioner are 100% responsible for the beneficiary.

My opinion, and $5 will get me a Starbucks coffee.....and now I won't sleep very well being worried.

We're on that list. Dec 4-7 is the expected date from my timeline.

I've been a little stressed with the national discussion on whether to vet applications from Muslims. Would the events of the past month influence the USCIS reviewer (California)? Unknown.

It's not going to be a legal issue in the "near" future. The Federal Government (Congress) creates the laws concerning immigration and naturalization. If changes are going to made to the vetting process, it will not be any time soon. Of course individual states have certain powers as well. You probably know the process... nothing happens over night. Besides, Obama's powerful pen will prevent any hint of discrimination against Muslims.

But you asked "Would the events of the past month influence the USCIS reviewer". The reviewers are human and the events from last month did happen in California (on their dirt). I could see the reviewer taking a closer look.

I just really hope it doesn't affect any of the current filers. People have no idea how long the process is and expensive.individuals who takes the K1 route are law abiding citizens. We do not wish to break any rules.

Maybe when she got to the U.S she might have had some influence that converted her. Its just really sad

Am very curious to see how this government review of K-1 visa impacts us current filers. I agree w/ Ted & Janine, but will be worth keeping an eye on everyone's timelines in next couple of weeks to see if there's a notable delay...

Will somebody please tell me instructions on how to post my picture to my timeline and profile?

On the left side of the screen you will see your name and a blank square (member written on top of it), where the picture goes. Left click on the blank square. It will take you to your profile page.

Then you will see your name and the blank square again on the top left of the screen. The blank square will say Change Picture. Just left click on the square. That will take you to the place you add your picture.

Make sure your picture file is less than 100kb. If you need to 'resize' a picture you can do it using a Microsoft windows picture. Size to small email.

NOTE: If you want to change the picture after you've submitted it the process is the same. But it will take a day or two for the change to occur.

Hope that helps.

So I received e-mail entitled "Acceptance Confirmation" on Nov. 27, saying USCIS had received my petition on Nov. 23. Still haven't received hard copy of NOA1. Should I be worried, or are delays typical? Thanks

This whole process is filled with delays and they're typical. You don't really know, nor can anyone tell you when you will receive your approvals. But I can say, that they have a great system here in VJ and it is based on "real world" results from people just like you who are processing. If you use it and follow it and include your approval dates, then everyone who is sharing is making the system work. You will be able to "guess" closely when you will get your notification based on others.

I have a couple of questions.Wonder if anyone can help. I filed in NOV 9 and got a NOA1 on NOV 12.

I forgot to sign and date the 34a attachment form.

I typed up a well documented account of how we met and typed my name on the bottom of the page and attached it to my I-129f but i did not sign or date the 34a document.

Additionally my fiance sent me a passport photo that is smaller than a 2x2 photo. the photo size was more like 1.5x1.5 she told me this is the size passport photo they use in the Philippines.

Will these issues draw a RFE.

Not sure how picky they are about attachments with missing signatures. I would have a signed copy of that attachment ready to send to them in case you receive an RFE. If you get approved, it might be a good idea to send that to your fiance.

My fiance sent me 2-2x2 photos. They asked her if it was for a passport.

Hopefully somebody better qualified than me will chime in.

If you check in the K1 RFE Master List here you'll see that those things have generally called for an RFE. We had to precisely ask for EXACTLY 2x2 (5 cm x 5 cm) here in Mexico when we took our pictures, too because passport photos all over the world range slightly in size. I would prepare new copies with signatures, as well as take new photos to have them ready just in case to speed things up if it does happen. Good luck!
