Remember. A RFE is only a minor detour. 2-3 weeks. I don't want even one day, but at least it's not a denied.

I'm thinking we have a good sign in that we all haven't heard anything. I don't think we'd all get RFE. So all is good.

Johnny Walker calls my name. I have to indulge now, my significant other has stated no more once she gets here...

You're right...but I don't even want one day either. We're already spending far too much time apart. :crying: And I checked everything a thousand times so can't even imagine what RFE we could possibly get.

I think you're right...no way you all got RFE'd. Here's to Monday, my fingers are crossed for all of you....enjoy your weekend with Johnnie.

I have a question for the November filers. Do you know what documents or item will my fiancé need to collect to take to the embassy for time of interview? Just wanted to have an idea to start collecting the items. Thanks for any help in advance

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Colombia.

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through Columbia. VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in the Colombian and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Get the US Embassy Colombian K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCIQFjAAahUKEwjxpMeZ_9jHAhWBvoAKHWlIAuY&url=http%3A%2F%2Fphotos.state.gov%2Flibraries%2Fcolombia%2F231771%2FPDFs%2FIVPkt3-4Instforinterviewmedicalexam_Oct2013_.pdf&usg=AFQjCNEpCX1tzqMoy4YxxYDJokypCTqJLw&sig2=shqbIglBK8R2mAJjLWQc8was this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages

Good luck and God's speed.

Theoretically....if you all are on track for NOA2 any day now, wouldn't you have already received an RFE if one was coming? Or am I wrong and you're never really safe from RFE until you actually get the NOA2?

Well normally yes that's what I thought but out of curiosity I checked the october fillers and thats were people were complaing that a month passed or 45 days and instead of a NOA2 they got a RFE instead. So my guess is that yes your not safe until you get Noa2

NOA2 is your completion and acceptance notification. RFE can come anytime after the NOA1 but not after the NOA2. Next possibility for a RFE is at time of the interview when they are reviewing your documents for the final decision and of course, if something came up in the interview that the CO wants to investigate some additional findings during the interview.

I see a lot of RFE's because of missing Letter of Intent, missing passport photo's, and missing signatures or not having the original signed documents. Like you, I went over mine countless times and tried to view it as they would see it. Even had friends look at it.

It would be interesting to see the different ways that others put their petition packets together. I used a 3-ring binder with plastic sleeves... pretty much copied a video on youtube. It worked for him

Very nice. Would you mind sharing your story? I've heard about people meeting through websites, but never met anyone to tell me how exactly that is done. Being part of the 'baby boomer' crowd, I'm more comfortable with meeting in person. I don't even have a "Facebook" book account---e'gad.....

"initial bonding with others" sounds so, well temporary. Bond and then off you go. My 'sub-forum' is near non-existent. Seems that either very few people are getting visas from Ethiopia, or those that are do not subscribe to Visajourney. Either way, once you guys bail on me, that is it....I'm all along

I put our petition in a 3-ring binder with plastic sleeves, as well! And also those special plastic sleeves for photos, in which we included 15 labeled ones of. When I scanned everything again once we completed the packet to make copies, we had over 70 pages of info (yeeeeeesh). But, wanted to be safe than sorry, and of course this included all translations of documents from Mexico. Hoping all this work will pay off, and not get an RFE *fingers crossed.*

Probably 9 out of 10 people who use the term "EGAD" don't have FB...hahaha..(joke)

I remember that word as Mr. Howell used to say that all the time. Ok who besides Greenbaum and James1942 know who Mr. Howell is?

Yeah my story is a real yawner.. don't want to put anyone to sleep.. Ok here it goes...I was walking through an airport in Paris and some dude came flying by and knocked into me spilling my coffee on my trousers. He was chasing some Ethiopian lady from what I could tell. Anyway I ended up missing my flight as I had to change my pants. With nothing to do I decided to log onto one of the airport internet terminals. I signed on to a dating website and did a search for ladies in the Manila area as I knew I would be heading there in a few months. I read her profile and viewed some of her photos sent her a message to see if she would respond and about 2 days later she finally did. We communicated for a few short weeks on the site but then my membership was about to expire so we transferred over to a free text/talk/video app (viber) and have communicated on there every day since earlier this year. I've been to visit her twice already and have another trip coming up early next year. This isn't my first rodeo at marriage but I'm looking forward to see where this journey takes me.

Ok you all can wake up now...especially you Gilligan.
