Congrats! My husband received his card two weeks following that status. He just received a job offer yesterday and starts on Monday. Early Christmas present!

I wonder how much longer it usually is for green card after getting ead.

She didn't file for advanced parole but we might just in case.

Hello everyone,

It has been a long while since I last reported in with no excuse for my absence other than this continuing journey.

I hope everyone are doing well.

We are in week 40 for our new arrival. She is late, which is following in her mother's footsteps :-).

Our trip through the dark forest has finally opened up to a green pasture. Social security card and conditional green card in hand. There is a little rocky path in the not too distant future called the 2 year review. But I do not foresee that as a big hurdle.

We didn't file a EAD as my former fiance's, current wife, job will be to take care of the home and our baby. From what I understand the conditional resident card is good enough for outside work, which won't happen until after our baby is off to school.

Niman, step-son, has moved from not knowing any English to a non-stop speaking machine. He has mastered X-Box, i-pad, math, riding a bike, and everything else a 6 year should be doing.

The pregnancyjourney has been, and continues to be an interesting trip to say the least. Learning the various stages, dealing with the up and down mood swings, and now near the end to start the new beginning. We are sitting in our kitchen and Aisha is using a yoga ball to help the process. We will induce on the 29th for our baby girl. My first, but I am thinking the paperwork part of that should be a lot easier for social security, birth certificate, and whatever else. The nursery is painted, and decorated, although still needing more furniture. Our princess has a ton of clothes already; I'm not denying she will be spoiled.

That's great news Jaime. I was wondering the other day if your baby girl had arrived yet - I hope the yoga ball works and she comes without induction, as I understand labor can be a bit harder after induction. Either way, I'm sure everything will go smoothly. You must be so excited to meet her! Have you picked a name?

So glad Niman has adjusted well. I hope Aisha likes it over here.

My husband just passed his driver's test today after practicing with a permit for the last couple of months. He received his EAD about 10 days ago and has interviews for jobs this week. We're both more than ready for him to have more (any!) independence and a busier schedule. I'm a full-time student and work part-time, so it won't hurt to have some more money coming in either.

To my knowledge you would send the corresponding form for AP along with a copy of your NOA1 for the greencard, that way you don't have to pay the separate fee.

As far as a whole different card...not sure on that.

I started working yesterday and today I finally received my social security card. Now I can get everything ready for the greencard interview next month

No, it varies tremendously from local office to local office and from case to case. You can check processing times for your local office on the USCIS website but the information is often out of date and unreliable.

I have only 2 months in between.. but some people have over a year between EAD and Greencard. According to the processing times my local office should be working on cases from March 2016.. but I filed in June and I have my interview in December, so it varies from office to office, case to case.
