My fiance arrived yesterday from London. He was supposed to have an hour and a half connection in Edmonton, Canada to Seattle. His plane out of London was an hour late. He missed his connection because the US Border Control in Canada were the ones to call him into the room and open his packet and ask a few questions. The airline sorted him out on another flight not too long after. Thank God... because US border control had already stamped the K1 stamp in his passport. Very interesting! I honestly thought Seattle would be his POE. But, he's here. Another small disturbance in the process. So anyone connecting in Canada to the US, take note and allow for extra time for your POE process.

Yeah, a lot of Canadian airports have US customs and immigration so that they can have flights to non-international airports within the US. Glad it worked out ok with getting another connection in the end. Hope you are enjoying having him with you!

That sucks. I hope you get it soon. From reading other people's stories, it seems like calling them repeatedly on the phone tends to move things along.

Does USCIS count the 90 days from when they receive the package? From the NOA1? I was wondering about this as I'm starting to get the papers ready for our AOS.

Hey everyone! We did it! My HUSBAND moved here 7/18, we had our wedding on 7/30 and today we mailed the AOS packet (a week sooner than we had planned). Feels good to have packets done for the time being. The AOS packet was no where near as tedious as the petition. The I-864 was probably the most work. How is everyone's AOS coming along? Anyone received their EAD?

My fiancé arrived in the US very early yesterday morning. My parents picked him up and I drove down in the afternoon right after the end of my summer classes. I was so happy to see him and to have him here! I can't believe we are finally together in the US.

This morning we applied for his social security number and got our marriage license. We will be legally married on Monday and have our family ceremony reception next Saturday in a different state. Can't wait!

Hi, everyone!

Here's a little update:

Our relationship grows stronger and stronger every day. We are happily married and that fills my heart with joy, it's like a fairy tale.

My Green Card got approved on July 10th, without any interviews RFE's whatsoever. Not even AP or EAD.

On July 20th I started working as a temp at a mortgage company and I LOVE working there. It's a growing company that really values its employees and it's like a dream. I love waking up in the morning to go to work. Last week, one of the executives of the company noticed me arriving at work at 7am and me working really hard, and suggested me to apply for a full time position. I am currently waiting for a response from my application. God, I'm so happy.

I also want to say to everyone living the angst of still waiting for your Green Card to be granted:

- While I was still waiting for my Green Card to be approved, all I did was to do, and re-do, and re-do my resume and started sending applications out as soon as I got my authorization. The next week, I already had a temp position.

- My life got so much better since I got a job. I feel like I'm breaking free from the absolute dependence from my husband, I can go out and buy my own things with my own hard earned money. I know people from work. I have funny stories about work when we eat dinner every night. I can drive anywhere with confidence. The independence I got from getting a job made our relationship stronger. And we have so many plans for the future!

So, if you or your spouse are/is sitting at home now depressed and angsty because your Green Card wasn't granted yet, DON'T GIVE UP! Be optimistic! Things will get better! Having a life in the USA is a bliss, I am so happy and grateful for the speed that our case was processed.

Best of luck to everyone !!!

Thank you all. Hope everybody will have a smooth process like us. So for now we will be relieved on doing paperwork.

Glad to hear things are continuing to go well with you all. All is well in the Cruz family. We are pretty much coasting until January of 2018 when we start the ROC process. That doesn't stop me from creeping around on here, of course. I already have a stack of all the bills, statements, and anything else showing joint-ownership/responsibility like car titles, rent leases, and work benefits from Feb to present so I won't be scrambling when the time comes.. Also counting down until our wedding reception or as I call it our "I do...again" since our civil wedding was quick. At least family and friends can celebrate with us this time around. I simply can't wait for that to be done with so I don't have to THINK about it anymore.

Me and my wife just mailed the aos paperwork in yesterday.? We waited only few weeks after the 90 days but that's fine. My wife is excited to start working soon and she loves it here and we are very happy.

Congrats,

It might take a while, the bio-metrics appointment letter will get to you in about 4 weeks after that it's the waiting game again.
