Sure there is a category for "Emergency AP"; and the requirements are for like medical emergencies mostly, or humanitarian stuff I think.

There's also just regular AP for those who would like to travel before getting their green card in hand. There have been times that the green card takes 6+ months to get which is why people file to get AP as well as authorization to work until they receive the green card. And that's what you would apply for

Thank you!

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to figure out what to do after entry to the US. I have a few questions,

1. Is there a waiting period after entry before we can apply for the SSN?
2. Do we have to apply for a state issued ID before we do the SSN or Marriage?
3. What order should I get everything?

Thanks

Me and my fiancé went to pick up her visa today. I had already booked a flight for tomorrow for me earlier because I had to return to work. So we got lucky and she got her visa day before I left. Then we got even more luckier that she was able to get on the same flight as me and one of the two vacant seats was right next to mine. So we will be flying together to the U.S. Also.??

Does anyone know if I can go with her when the customs takes her into the room to check he papers?

I am so happy for everyone!

We got married up in the mountains on May 7th. I just got back from our Honeymoon. Everything went way better then we could have imagined. My next goal is to get a place for us within the next 3 months, currently we are living with my parents. I will be starting the AOS process today. She should be receiving her SS card soon, then she will go back to get her name changed. It feels weird to be married, but not in a bad way. Saying my wife, someone with the same last name; I feel more connected to the person I am with than ever before with anyone else.

Muito Obrigado Kiki. I am blessed that I met my wife, our story is something I always love telling and people are always fascinated by it. I am happy to join the Brazilian family, I know there will be many visits there in my future. I hope the best for you as well and wish upon you everlasting love in your marriage. That goes for everyone here.
