Not too much of a story really, I could not attend the interview due to only having 1 week of vacation time accrued so far this year, so I could either attend the interview and she would have to fly back on her own, or she could attend the interview and I can fly back with her. We both decided that she could attend the interview by herself. So going back, it's kind of been a crazy month, Once we got the NOA2 I contacted my job to get an employment verification letter, but in order to get that my job required a copy of the DS-160 confirmation page, so when I finally got that, we scheduled the interview for the 28th. So I had a matter of weeks to gather everything and fedex it to Regine. Fedex happily charged close to $300 to send a 5 pound box to the Philippines, but hey, it got there with all the contents so I won't complain. I sent her a binder with ALL the paperwork, neat and organized as well as my small tablet so we can communicate while she was in Manila. I booked a flight and hotel for her and her aunt and they arrived safely on Sunday and completed the medical on Monday and Tuesday. They stayed at the BayView Park hotel which is right across the street from the US Embassy, which they loved the hotel, it's really nice they said. So come the interview, I'm a nervous wreck but apparently everything went really really smoothly. They asked her 3 or 4 questions and then ...... Approved. ha ha apparently they didn't even look at the binder. So right now she's still in manila but she'll fly back home Saturday. I will fly over there in 2 weeks to pick her up and fly back with her. We will complete the CFO the day before we come back, I have already registered her online.

That week will be an intense week..... Due to saving close to $1000 in airfare I decided to fly to Cebu instead of going thru Manila, which means I'll have to catch a bus and ferry over to her city of San Carlos, from Cebu. To spend like 3 days there then on that Friday, catch a bus and ferry back, attend the CFO, and catch the flight, then land here in Texas 2 days later.....

I will need a vacation from my "vacation"

A story to tell to your kids in the future. A vacation from your vacation. I know the feeling. LOL

Congrats.

We did the formal marriage--regular license to replace the informal registration. Nothing fancy. The big ceremony will be later. We had it at my parents house, with one friend skyped in from Nigeria.

The baby thing is a whole new world of complications for doctor procedures. Not that I mind. I did not plan for it, so where we live in a small town means I have to take off work to drive to the city for the OB. But that thought is sort of cool. Yes, I have to drive my wife to the OB to check on our baby. Could be an inconvenience, but it is not really. We spend the day together, which is fun. We have been staying at a hotel to make it easier, which she loves...but that is getting pricey. I'm told she'll be going in every 2 weeks, and then once closer to the date every week--

Aisha is really starting to get in tuned. Niman is loving it. I had to cut his TV time, yes he has a nice flat screen with childrens' movies, so he can focus on reading/writing. I'm home schooling for now. He's picked up basketball, bike riding, baseball, and hanging out with me really well. Really likes when I read to him at night.

I'll submit the AOS on the 15th with the regular marriage license. I hope that is not complicated. Really don't need any more complicated paperwork :star::thumbs:

My fiancé visa status says issues and in final processing? The status also gave a 10 business day window to hear something further.

how long does this status take to get visa usually?

depends on what they are going to do. My crystal ball says, 4 business days.....

Tick Tock, we are now starting a new count down timer :P

By the way, I said we would use this as a fast pass for AOS. I was only kidding. Completely, I mean really completely, not expected, and unexpected. Aisha was sure the doctor was not correct. I got two over the counter test kits, in case one was a false positive, to confirm; both gave the + and - sign. I took a picture--which Aisha said I was crazy to do. It will be part of our new arrival's picture story book

Wow I haven't been on VisaJourney for a few weeks and now I read about this great news. Congratulations Jaime & Aisha :luv:

Hey, my dear friends!!!

Girl in orange here speaking... Now (well, not yet, gotta file for SSN first) Mrs. Caruso!! Yay!!

We got married on Monday in a very intimate but still magical and beautiful ceremony at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, CT. When we exchanged rings, it begun playing "all you need is love" out of nowhere. It was a guy sitting closeby with a guitar and him and his wife were there and they had adorable baby turtles. It was magical, I really loved my wedding! His parents were there and my now mother-in-law said a few words welcoming into the family, it made me shed a few bride tears haha ^^

We are planning on having a more elaborate wedding in the summer, it's gonna be just as beautiful, if not more! =)

Now we are gathering the docs for the AOS+AP+EAD and when it comes to proof of relationship, has any of you submitted anything? We don't have joint bank accounts or lease or mortgage together yet. =( all we have is pictures, really.

That sounds like a beautiful ceremony! (L) Congratulations to the both of you!!!

I'm still waiting in the Netherlands for my Master thesis to be approved by the 2nd examiner at the university :clock::wacko: I have a new meeting at the 11th of May and I'm really hoping that I can leave in the same week. My parents organized a goodbye party at the 13th and for the rest everything is prepared.. So I'm (almost) ready for takeoff ^_^

Does anyone know what the requirements for Advanced Parole are? Is it just for 'emergencies'? I received the news that my graduation will be in July or August and I would like to know if it is possible to travel back home to attend my graduation..

Sure there is a category for "Emergency AP"; and the requirements are for like medical emergencies mostly, or humanitarian stuff I think.

There's also just regular AP for those who would like to travel before getting their green card in hand. There have been times that the green card takes 6+ months to get which is why people file to get AP as well as authorization to work until they receive the green card. And that's what you would apply for
