had my interview on 15th... still waiting for passport to be delivered.. today they changed the status to "administrative processing" .. dnt knw what exactly that means.. some people say its normal after approval as printing and preparing visa packet is also reffered to administrative processing . on the other hand some says its bad sign as it could take weeks or months. the CO said my visa is approved and i will get it in 5-10 days. she did'nt gave me any letter or 221g except the yellow paper apporval.. i booked my flight in excitement for 30th march.. and embassy is going for holidays from 24th to 27th.. dnt knw if i will get my passport back by 29th or not.. its really frustrating

yeah my fiancé warned me about this and said its not good to buy ticket for the U.S. Until she gets the visa. I will be on new dheli for interview with my fiancé and I have a month off from work so hopefully she will get her visa within a month after interview.

And yes the Indian holiday every week is frustrating when things need to get done, and don't forget the weekend coming up after holiday.

We are in Orlando! Finally, my last trip to Ethiopia for a very very long time.

Visas stamped before I start ranting :-)

NO it was not uneventful. Two words-- American Airline Sucks; okay so 3 words.

I've flown a lot internationally. Not million mile, but a lot. 6 times to Ethiopia in a year and half. Several times to South America, various African countries, and Asia.

Of all my trips, this ranks as the worse. And American was the provider for a one way leg only; and they messed that up. Horrible everything, I'm embarrassed they have the name American.

I'm on my phone so I'll wait till I'm at my computer to fill in details. Except to say avoid AA at all costs.

Orlando POE was a 4 hour ordeal. 2 customs officers working the visitor line and 1 in the office. There were like 200 in line. Monday morning and 3 people working---for shame Uncle Sam.

Waiting in line was the ordeal. Once we got to the "interview" it was no issue. I did most of the talking; I was in control :-)

Only asked Aisha her mother and father's name. he assumed Niman was my son, the name, and I didn't correct him...I let him talk.

Aisha and Niman crashed tonight at 7pm. it is great to see them here, sleeping......

Yes I am exhausted, and somewhat still annoyed, but seeing them here, sleeping........

Nothing else need be said---

I wish you, Aisha and Niman all the best. It was a hard and long road that you were on but you didn't let anything get in the way. I salute you.

Yesterday went great, despite a bit of mess having to clarify whether she was already an American, as her dad was born in California; not enough proof to meet those requirements unfortunately. Nevertheless, approved! ^^

The 'Visa Status Check' site is a bit confusing, as it says last updated today, the 23rd, but still indicates 'Ready' as it did when we scheduled the interview. Ah well, they said 5-7 days to get back the visaed passport. Finally turned all of that stress into excitement lol. :-)

Paying the extra 50 dollars fee to change date is worth it if they have that offer.

Finally got everything done and interview booked. Unfortunately the earliest appointment is for August 1st. So 4 more months without my love. But soon!

Holy smokes! August! That's a long wait for an interview. We will have our interview sooner but my fiance will not be moving to the US til August. We decided he will continue working in the UK and save some more money up... (that AOS fee...yikes). September weddings are always lovely though. ;-)

Thank you. You and the group here most certainly made the burden that much more bearable.
