Hi everyone, just wanted to get some feedback about the time approved apps are making it to the visa center. Is it taking the whole 30 days? Thanks

I'm on Day 25 and still no update on the NVC website. I haven't tried calling though as we are in no hurry. Case number shows not found. I might try calling this afternoon or tomorrow. Seems like things have slowed down there.

Naw, that's just the scripted answer they give you. Back in the day it was taking about 10 business days to get the case number. Some people took maybe a few days more. After that, within 1-3 days the file will be sent off to the embassy. NVC is pretty much just a middle-man for the fiancé visa. They receive the file, give it a number, and send it away.

Just keep calling. Wait about 10 business (not calendar days necessarily) days from the time you get your NOA2

Cool, thank you. Its been a little more than 10 business days. But i will keep calling. Can i call usics to see if it was sent out?

$1070 I believe, thankfully you have like 2 years to get that started. I know I'm giving it a few months break of all this paperwork after we get the marriage and everything out of the way.

Hi everyone,

I was trying to catch back up on everything - it sounds like there may be a few other people in a similar situation...

The USCIS center in California made a mistake with some sort of stamp when they approved our case back in January. After 1 month wasted going back and forth to the NVC we received our 2nd NOA2 on Feb. 9th. The NVC received our case again on the 19th of February and for the past 3+ weeks they've told me we are undergoing 'Administrative Processing' every time I call.

Very very frustrating, but we're trying to be patient. Hopefully they'll finish everything this week and send our case along to Warsaw so my fiancée can schedule her interview..

Thanks for the link! I read it and I'm still a bit confused if after those 90 days we would be out of status though, and I still couldn't work if I didn't file for AOS right? Greenbaum are you around?

Ah man! that stinks! I'm sorry you are going through that

You have to get married within 90 days for sure. I don't think you have to adjust status as well within that time...though it's certainly recommended so you can get LPR status. I mean, there are a lot of people who waited anywhere from a few months to a few years to do that without a problem that I've seen on this forum. But I'm prolly the wrong person to ask

.

We did it right away so my husband doesn't go nuts sitting at home and so we can have more income AND so we will be able to travel outside the country SHOULD the need come up before getting the GC.

Not sure about the "out of status: thing. I would think that technically you would be... but other people who are wiser than I have responded to people that "Immigrations is pretty forgiving as long as the foreign spouse entered legally and can prove that through the passport stamps and such. I also don't want to tell you the wrong thing though...this website gives me an inflated sense of knowledge that is not really there lol.

Someone with more experience can answer that for sure

If you want to get authorization to work you will need to file at some point. When I filed AOS I also filed the concurring EAD (work authorization) and (AP) which are taking between 60-90 days at no extra cost. This way if the GC process ends up take 8 months, at least he can have a job while that process goes

Good luck!

I've had my medical last week Thursday in Amsterdam and it went smoothly as well. But on the same day I received a phone call from the consulate that they hadn't received the fee for the interview yet  When I registered for my interview online I didn't receive any payment details so I assumed I could pay the fee at the consulate on the date of my interview. Several calls and emails later we found out that there seemed to be a 'technical' problem with my account so I had to register again, received the payment details, payed the amount and last Saturday I received an email that the original date for my interview, the 17th of March, was still available :innocent::D

OMG that seems to me like a nightmare!!! I also had some issues, but on my medical appointment. The doctor's secretary forgot to send the request for my exams both to the xray clinic as well as to the lab where they collected a blood sample. Echte slecht! But in the end they told me I could still do the exam and they would send the request later, which was good. So, Saturday will be the d-dag!!!! I'm beyond excited and nervous for my interview tomorrow. When I think about the fact that 24h from now I'll have a response, I feel even more nervous hahaha

Nice!!! so exciting, I will be with my fiance, next Wednesday :D

Best of luck at the interview!! you'll do great. May I ask, what are kikis?

Best of luck!! hope times flies for you :)

Thank youuuu!!! Ohhh that's so nice!!! When are you guys getting married?? =)

Kikis are a way my fiancé and I call cats (we love cats) and we call each other kiki too. He always calls me a baby kiki-muffin-angel-boo haha he'd be embarrassed now if he could read this lololol or when we're cuddling in bed, we like to say we are two kikis in a blanket (like "pigs in a blanket") or that we're two kikis in a pod ("two peas in a pod"). Yea, people would would get diabetes if they could see us being cute with each other, it's really sweet hahaha

greenbaum..jamie!! i did the medicals and they gave me the sealed reports to take on my interview day. they didnt explain me my reports! does that mean, all is good?

Having fun yet?

Is my theory correct? It is exciting, like walking across broken glass barefooted?

Anticipation at every step, stress, excitement, adrenalin, of what will this step bring? Sounds similar to walking across a mine field too.

Even when you get a good result, there is the wonder is it really good...did I miss something? Maybe I missed it and it will come up later.

Visajourney across the mine field, into the black forest....

Congratulations as you made past this check point :thumbs::star::star::thumbs::thumbs:

I sure hope the work authorization happens for any person who is here legally...easily.

Think about what I just wrote. "WORK" "HERE LEGALLY" "EASILY".

I'll leave it at that with no other comment......
