Can I make appointment at the embassy when my paperwork is on the way to the embassy? Or do I have to wait until they notify that they received it??

Consult your Embassy for specific instructions. Some Embassy's will allow you to process ahead if you have your case number others will not. Check your Embassy's website. Also, gather the documents contained in your Embassy Letter.

http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html

And here are the step by step instructions from your Embassy http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-iv-kvisa.asp#otherinfo

The best place to be to get answers to your questions is in the sub-forum for your country. To find the sub-forum for your country go to the top of this page, select "Forums", then scroll down the page to "General Discussion Area", then within that area scroll a little ways down to "Regional Discussions". Once in your regional discussion forum go ahead and post your question and those who are knowledgeable for many of your questions "why this", "can you explain this", "where is this" or "why is it taking so long" can be answered.

Since most are here in this thread and are processing for the first time, they may or may not know the answer for your Embassy. Their help is well intended but you cannot afford a mistake. Good luck.

Hi everyone, quick question. Has anyone had to update any info on their petition prior to NOA2? My fiancée name was missed spelled and one other thing was missing. Whats the process to update?

Call USCIS and informed them of the problem. If by chance you can't get it corrected then wait till your interview and they can make the changes as long as you can produce an official document showing the correct information. For the name, the passport will do.

its been close to a month since they received my reply for the RFE, Now I'm starting to feel like this isn't just being unorganized but just plain incompetence.

RFE for information that was already in the petition but was over looked.

Not knowing the process from their perspective can give you false hope. The mind can sometimes be a terrible friend. Just think, they process over 6 MILLION applications a year and we are only but one. Stay positive.

This thread sure has been quite since Jaime left on his visa trip. I think I now know who keeps this thread humming with laughter and support. I wish him and other who are interviewing the best of luck.

Agree! Don't worry it will be humming again soon enough. I'm so happy for him and Aisha.

This forum has definitely been in a lull lately. But after we are all married and getting prepared for the AOS, we will be going through this all over again. An update on my situation, I will find out on Sunday when my fiance will be able to arrive. I am hoping for the 10th but we will see. I've been planning on a late April wedding. I am ready!
