That was weird. After a day of almost complete silence on this forum, Jaime comes back and today this site is a lot more busier. Lol.

But in commemoration to all you young and older folks who have found that one love and have thrown all logic to the wind I salute you with this blast from the past:

I agree with everything you said. And I love that song, even though it is before my time. It always reminds me of the, "Groundhogs Day" movie. Hilarious.

Hey, guys! This is the orange girl again, I've been a little absent from the thread cause last week I arrived in the USA for a last visit to my fiance as a non-married couple hahaha

We are currently making the most of this moment after almost 2 months apart (if it wasn't for the fact he's studying for the GMAT) and enjoying each other's company in the majestic city of Hartford. :dancing:

Last week we also got our NOA2 and we don't really know what to do from now. I know all you guys have been through this, but there are almost 200 pages of forum chats to go through if we want to read it all, which makes things a litte tricky. So... what do we do now?

Sorry about the late response, I just got back last night from visiting my fiance.

I received the NOA2 notification on Jan 25th. I called the NVC this morning at about 8am, east coast time. After only ONE ring a nice lady answered. Without any small talk, she immediately asked for the receipt number (as stated on the NOA2).

A few questions later she informed that they received the case and gave me the case number, invoice id and beneficiary id numbers. The whole thing took less than 3 minutes.

Now we're off to the next steps.

That is so great to see. I tell my fiance all the time now that it is very difficult to be away from each other right now but when we finally do see each other, we will appreciate every single minute we have with each other because we know how it feels to be without. Everyone, never take your love for granted.

Okay After some research on my own I learned how to check case status. My case number became "Ready" Yesterday...Can my fiance now fill out DS-160 and schedule interview now or does she still need to wait from embassy? This is for Nairobi

My opinion based on what I read from Nairobi Embassy.

You can submit the DS-160 now. Note here under Step 3:

Step 2: The National Visa Center, or USCIS Nairobi, processes the immigrant visa petition and sends it to the Nairobi Consular Section.

Step 3: The applicant completes the medical exams and paperwork required for the immigrant visa interview.

"...and paperwork..." would be for the DS-160.

The next step after that is very hazy. This is in regards to the interview appointment.

Here is the best information, and looks like the normal Packet 3 that everyone speaks about: http://nairobi.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas/visa-packets.html

If it were me, this is just me talking, I would schedule the interview after submitting the DS-160. It seems like the same process that we are going through in Ethiopia. You will pay the Visa fee, setup DHL, etc.

Hope that helps, This is my opinion.
