Can't we buy plane tickets once we have an interview scheduled then just pay that stupid fee for changing flight dates if we need to?

If you do this you will have to pay more. Not every airline offers this. I am buying a cheap ticket so it will not come with the option to change the flight dates.

If we want to visit our fiance in between NOA2 and interview- do we also have to bring proof of ties to America to show we won't be staying in the foreign country just as our fiances do when visiting us? I'm assuming yes, but wondering if anyone who visited their fiances for the interview were asked any further questions upon arrival in their fiance's country. Thanks!

You will not have any requirements that would affect your visit. Here is a website I use to determine where my wife can travel on her GC. Use it to determine your requirements to travel. Good luck and have fun.

OMG! FIANCEE FORGOT MEDICAL RECORDS IN HOTEL!!

Fortunately hotel was nearby and we were able to go and get them.

Apparently, Interview was a non-event. CO did not ask many questions, did not want additional evidence. Did ask questions about the golf course at Don Mueang airport.

He said, now wait 10-14 days, so I guess we are approved.

P.S. Fiancee blames me for forgetting medical records.

All the countries I've ever been to, several, there is never a situation where I have to prove I am going to leave. Yes, some places want a Visa, normally get it at the Airport upon arrival, but never have to show anymore tie to America than a passport.

So, no not the same. American passport get you near universal access to most all countries with no questions asked, ahhh sorry one question "how will you pay for your visa, credit or cash?"

I'm going to go attend my fiance's interview. There is not going to be anyone asking me if I intend on returning to the USA...

Once filling out the DS160 online if the embassy hasn't yet contacted me is my fiance still able to schedule interview ? please non judgmental answers im so confused im sorry

We are trying to help you but your not making it easy. Take a deep breath and let's take this one step at a tine. Your case number you received from NVC is used to complete the form DS-160. Once that's completed the DS-160 you'll schedule your interview and complete your medical. But here is the catch you don't have all the pieces to the process and neither do the members here. That's why we recommend calling your Embassy to see if you'll get a packet 3, your steps to processing. Once you have that the processing picture becomes much clearer. Don't get off the call till you have all your questions answered.

Return here and we can help interrupt what you have L earned from talking with the embassy.

Peeps. It is perfectly fine to ask your CO if you are approved for your visa. They won't bite.

You can pay the stupid fee if your stupid. Why would you want to pay a fee when you can avoid one. Your money, do as you please.

You should check and make sure because most airlines offer a 50 dollar extra fee to ticket price of flight for some flexibility in changing dates if need to. I was wondering why more people weren't doing that. I think the fee also covers some baggage insurance sometimes.

I am going to go their and spend time with her so she can fly back with me while we wait to get visa after interview. The only way we can do this is to get the flexible dates. And of course we prefer to be on same plane ....

I already told my fiance I won't be able to make it to the interview because I'll only have 1 week of vacation, so I can either spend that at the interview... or having a ceremony for her and her family and fly back with her after she receives the visa in the mail... naturally I will wait til she gets the visa before ordering the tickets. This is an expensive and stressful endeavor, might as well try to save money where every you can rather than pay extra cuz you couldn't wait a week for verification.
