My fiance's interview is tomorrow. We are both very anxious. We will be chatting tonight to make sure all her paperwork is in order. When I wake up in the morning, I will have a message from her that will say approved or not (she is 3 hours ahead). How am I supposed to sleep tonight? Lol.

With great dismay, I learned that the embassy requested a 2015 tax return from somebody today. They must be joking, as everyone knows 2015 tax returns are not due until April 15, or, as in my case, even later, because I usually have to file for extensions due to the complexity of my return.

Even if I wanted to, I would not be able to file yet, as I have not received all my 1099s and K-1 forms for taxes. As a matter of fact, even if I were an employee, W-2 forms were not due from employers until yesterday (January 31)

I am sure you've come up with a plan. I thought about it. Keep control of this part, so your fiancé doesn't have to deal with it.

My thoughts--Include a memo to your 3 years of tax forms. Memo that explains your 2015 filing. When you will file, and why you have to file on that date.

This way at least you get to present the information. And it shows you know about it. The purpose of having the copies of the taxes is to show we file them, and so that the next step AOS will be accomplished. This should check that box.

Let us know what you do, and how it goes. If there is anyone who I have confidence to figure it out it is you.

Yes, I wrote a I-134 supplement explaining that it is unreasonable to expect that to nip it in the bud.

Everybody that has filed their 2015 taxes raise your hand. Perhaps my fiancee should ask the CO if he or she already filed taxes.

 I wanted to make sure this wouldn't happen to me so....

Normally I'm a April 15 filer, if that helps.

I suppose my paranoia worked out for once

Ah that is so awesome, best of luck to you both! And hopefully they don't ask for 2015 taxes that is a bit ridiculous.

Best of luck! Let me know how it goes. We're anxiously waiting notification from the consulate in Rio so we can go ahead and schedule our interview. :dancing:

Thank you, you should be able to schedule it for the 16th. Yeah, once our case reached the consulate I had her schedule the interview. Saved us a week of wait time. I did not even wait for packet 3. There was no need, I got all the information from here. When I actually received packet 3, I already knew everything they told me. Go VisaJourney! :)

I found VisaJourney a little late in the process, so we're working on getting all the information he'll need for the interview now (almost have everything). How long did it take you to get the police certificates? Is that a quick step?

Yes. She was able to get that very quick. She went to the Federal Police and the State Police websites and was able to print out the records.

While I can only speak for my country. I don't think there's many countries that still do the packet three. You need to have filled out The DS-160 and paid the visa fee before you are able to schedule an interview, and sometimes even to schedule a medical exam

Follow this link to the answers to your questions. https://de.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/appointment-and-interview/

You should be asking these questions in the sub-forum for Germany. The folks here are trying to get their arms around what they have to do for their country and may not be that knowledgeable about the process for Germany.

To better serve you when answering your question(s) can you complete your VJ Profile. When it's complete all your important information will appear under your picture when you post questions. If you look at others you'll see what I mean. To do this, go to the upper right hand corner, select your name and under your name chose "my profile". Next under your picture you choose "Edit my Profile". Under profile settings scroll to the bottom of the page and you see two areas (Profile Information and Immigration Information) that accommodates vital additional information to help others in their reply to your question(s). Without it, the replier may just move on and not give you the answer because they have to "work" to get that needed information. The answer is sometimes predicated on that additional information. Their time is valuable. Thanks.
