Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with. This will allow you to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to take at the US Embassy - Brazil. Sub-forum for Brazil is located here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through Brazil. VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Brazil and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa

from their personal experience. Link: http://brazil.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas_kvisas.html

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

http://brazil.usembassy.gov/index.html

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages

Good luck and God's speed.

Thanks! These links are very helpful! I'll definitely check our the Brazil sub-forum to learn more about our specific K-1 process.

Hello again,

My fiance was not in his home country when we submitted the I129F- he was studying abroad for the semester. We made an attachment that indicated he would be moving back to Sweden Dec 26th and that Stockholm would be his address for all future USCIS/NVC/Embassy purposes. Should I be calling USCIS to confirm his current address (to make sure it's not listed as his foreign address) since it was listed as abroad when we submitted?

Welcome back. I'm sure you enjoyed your trip.

Yes this is one of the busiest threads on K1.

Things sure move fast once NOA2 approval. Hang on.

Get those IRS transcripts from here for past 3 years.

Send your gal what you have regarding pay stubs and keep looking for a job is all you can really do.

https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

Tyler

Thanks for the tip, Tyler...I ordered the transcripts so they should be on their way. Now just really hoping I can get a job ASAP. Oh and just FYI, I'm the "gal" (and US citizen/petitioner) in this partnership. :)

A letter from your employer will do just fine along with the other requirements from your Embassy.

Thanks Greenbaum. I wish we had a Turkish version of you....our subforum is completely dead.

So I have been in bliss the past week knowing that my fiance will have her interview on the 2nd and on the 11th she will arrive....then today happens. On my way to work this morning, I texted my fiance to see how she was doing since I hadn't heard from her since Saturday. She tells me she wants to tell me something. My first thought was, "this is bad" (she never says that). She said she has something important she has to attend in March and cannot come until after that and we will have to change our plans.

Saying I am sad right now is an understatement. :crying: I was 2 weeks away from seeing her, now it is 2 months. And no one I know understands what i am going through, but I know you guys know how it feels. It is nice having a place to come to that has other people in the same process at the same time. I pray you all do not have setbacks and can be with the one you love soon.

I know how you feel. We were just talking about this last week and I was hoping he could fly here a week after we (hopefully) get approved. He gently reminded me that he will need to give at least 1-2 weeks notice at his job, and then fly out to see his family, so we'd be looking at waiting about a month. I was super upset at first too, but I'm trying to keep reminding myself that once he gets here, he won't get to see his family or friends for quite a while. Just try to remember that once she does arrive, she'll be alllll yours for the foreseeable future, and you won't have to deal with this agonizing time apart ever again. :D

Visa status on CEAC is now showing "issued" BAAAAAAAAH! Excitedly waiting for the email that says "come git it"

Then it's all smooth sailing from there. We got him his plane ticket to arrive Friday, Feb 5. Took a risk in purchasing it before having the visa in hand BUT the prices were right!

PtL!

That is SOOOOO exciting! So happy for you guys! We are all living vicariously through you right now. :joy:

My fiance flies into Seattle tomorrow afternoon to visit me for 10 days!!:luv: It has been almost 5 months since we have seen each other.

Tomorrow is also the day the California Service Center receives my RFE reply. So we may receive our NOA2 when he is here (L) .

Congrats and enjoy your visit! I got to tell my fiance about our NOA2 in person last week and it was sooooo nice to be able to celebrate together.

Congrats to the rest of you progressing along too! Can't wait for everyone in this group to have their approvals!

Thanks Greenbaum. I wish we had a Turkish version of you....our subforum is completely dead.

Our Ethiopian 'subforum' is a figment of someone's imagination. Zero, nada. More along the lines of Greek Mythology.

What we as K1 visa petitioners and beneficiaries have been left behind with are tales of the likes of Medusa within the walls of Embassy that spend their days guarding the K-1 visa approval stamp from innocent K-1 applicants . With a legacy of a turning the applicant into terrified stone. It is said that only the bravest and most cunning of K1 applicants have come out of the Embassy cave with an approved K1 visa in hand.

 Whether this is truth, fiction, or a mixture we will not know until we venture inside.........

So EE&MY, as this forum is only for initial bonding, and not intended to be a place for long term support, I myself welcome you to the club of the orphans without a subforum.

Sounds like a yes to me. Verification is always a good thing.

Hi guys here's what happened today.

I went to the embassy with my parents so someone can carry my phone while im in the embassy. My appointment was at 7:30am, I got there around 6:30am and they are starting to line up. Immigrants and K-1 has their own lines so be sure to ask the guard where is that line. There will be a lot of people there so make sure you ask right way so you could get in line early.

As you enter you will be asked to take our first page of DS-160, Appointment Confirmation and your passport. Do not fold it because that will be the same paper you'll bring up to the last step. Then you'll enter the embassy premises and get lined again to get a queue number. As the lady hand you your DS-160 with number she will tell you to go to DOOR NUMBER 2, there lots of personnel that will be assisting you and tell you the next step.

It'll be the fingerprint scanning time and you'll be asked to take out the Original Birth certificate, CENOMAR, passport and the paper with your case number.

Next step would be the pre scanning... this the Filipino consul will be asking you some questions. they also attached list of docs youllneed to prepare so while waiting, just gather them so youll be ready by the time they ask for it. after the local consul would be your OATH, youll just have to answer "YES". then youre ready for the step 4, which is the interview with a US COnsul.

I heard a lot of people saying that the KOREAN look a like consul denies a lot of applicants... and yes just the moment i wan in line for my oath.. i saw she handed the blue paper which is denied. :( I was nervous when i saw it and prayed that she wont be my interviewer. But OMG it was her.. well when i faced her. she asked me to go to the next available consul. I dont know if she mistaken me as a Korean :) but im lucky to be talking to this guy.

He asked me questions like: my name, birthday, where does my fiance live, his work, if he got married, how many times, age of the children...

he joked around about the place i lived... he said he just watched the movie HENERAL LUNA. :). he told me it was a great movie. and finally...said

SO... LOOKING I AM APPROVING YOU!! :) CONGRATULATIONS. I told him before leaving that by the way i like your beard... he said thanks and he likes it too.

Lined up for the last step which is the instructions on where to input the delivery address.. then im good. :)

Phew.. i was done around 10am.
