NOA1 notice date was November 18th, 2015. Our petition was approved on January 22nd, 2016, two days after they received the response to the RFE issued requesting to know the 'dating website' where we met (like instant!).

Now I'm stressing about the embassy part of the process, lol... like how long it will take to get an interview, anything special they'll need, etc. Dealing with Vancouver. D:

Hope all goes well for everyone :)

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy Canada.

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through Canada. VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Canada and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa

from their personal experience. Link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/

Get the Canadian K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://photos.state....uver/k_pkt3.pdf as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

http://canada.usembassy.gov/

Two more places to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages

And a recent interview review http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=18429

Good luck and God's speed.

I agree, Lots of RFE's for what website people meet.

Conspiracy Theory:

In light of San Bernardino, CA and what happened in France, maybe USCIS is trying to see if anyone confesses to meeting on "Questionable Website?" Like lets say a couple met on:

"JihadiSingles.com - Get together and have a blast! ah ha ha ha AH HA HA HA!!!!! - Terrorist Worldwide LLC" <--- Seems totally Legit

as opposed to:

"FarmersOnly.com - City folk just don't get it - 2015 FarmersOnly Media INC" <------------- RED FLAGS LEFT AND RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

One of these two sites is an actual site. Yes, I looked :bonk:

I'm wondering where horsedate.com stands on the flag rating system. No, that's not where I met my fiance  Two legs and no tail is my preference.

On a serious note: I must be missing something. What difference would it make from a national security point of view if it is a free dating site or a marriage broker? I understand why IMBRA was created. That investigation is for the background check of the U.S. petitoner and not the fiance... yes? Perhaps to save them some work and slow down the process (RFE's). My only other guess is it's a double check of the petitioner to see if he/she has radical ties (can I say that?).

~White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest was asked Thursday whether changes to the program were inevitable after the San Bernardino shooting. He responded that it "certainly seems the likely outcome, given what's transpired." And, Earnest added, after the review by the State Department and Homeland Security, "If there are changes that are necessary that can strengthen the program and greater ensure our security, then the President will certainly direct those agencies to implement them."~

The RFE's for dating sites may be one of those implementations. More to come, I'm sure.

Z know. It isn't so hard if you just imagine what it is that should belong in place of z. Like a word game, z understand?

Or think of Z nation. Which really has nothing to do with z question. But it is a pretty good TV series. Good writing, for a Z based series.

Then there is its place in the order of the alphabet. Now I really degress...

jaime am so worried its been 8 days but no update from NVC !!!!

This week. 10 days is minimum. It is only a mail room stop. So there is nothing to worry about.

I thought the same way. The ghost of will my petition be the first one pulled back at the last minute for a RFE, after I was given the approval.

'Psych'. The government playing a big sick prank on me. :cry2:

Sorry, we are not so unique. It will get there, and then 2 days later it will be in the mail to Addis. We can still interview around the same date.

Any word on us being able to use the schedule print out for the police?

Have you finished the DS-160? That should be ready to go now.

Once you have the case number you fill in that blank in the DS-160, and submit. No waiting to fill it out.

Then you go online to set up DHL, and payment arrangements---easy. Go pay at the bank, and then within 2 days (maybe faster) you will have the payment number.

Then you schedule. So you can have a schedule date as early as next Friday. Which means medical/police the following next week.

You can be done in 2 weeks--from now. Just waiting on the interview date.

Ready, Set.....Goooooooooo
