Just received a statement in email from the Director of Customer Support from OkCupid stating that Okcupid is NOT an international Marriage Broker as defined by the International Marriage Brokers Act. Key evidence for my RFE and perfect timing since I am going to the Post Office this morning to mail my RFE answer. Yay!

So I have been in bliss the past week knowing that my fiance will have her interview on the 2nd and on the 11th she will arrive....then today happens. On my way to work this morning, I texted my fiance to see how she was doing since I hadn't heard from her since Saturday. She tells me she wants to tell me something. My first thought was, "this is bad" (she never says that). She said she has something important she has to attend in March and cannot come until after that and we will have to change our plans.

Saying I am sad right now is an understatement. :crying: I was 2 weeks away from seeing her, now it is 2 months. And no one I know understands what i am going through, but I know you guys know how it feels. It is nice having a place to come to that has other people in the same process at the same time. I pray you all do not have setbacks and can be with the one you love soon.

JJGussiaas, they did ask you for all the forms like the financial forms I-134, etc?

in Guatemala I have to wait 1-2 months until we get a Packet 3 before we can do ANYTHING, so annoying.

Yes. They asked for all the docs according to the packet which were : certificado de solterio, police record, his birth certificate, my birth certificate, form I-134 with 3 previous year tax stuff (I included W-2s), and medical exam results

If you were divorced you would have had to bring that documentation - which neither of us were ever married before

so sorry to hear!! It is DEFINITELY extremely frustrating not be able to be with our loved ones as fast as we wish. For us it will be about 3 months the earliest probably, and I can tell you, time is going so slow. I feel like this process really tries your patience, hope time flies for you guys.

Thank you. It wouldn't be so bad, but I haven't seen her since July. Getting to this point was difficult. But I am not giving up, she is too special to me.

NVC threw a complete curveball at me today. They told me once they do have a case number that I submit my affidavit of support to them directly? I thought my fiance just has to bring that to the interview? I thought NVC scans stuff into a system and then sends it off again...Am I misunderstanding something here?

Hello VJ family. ...please I need help on a question. I checked the CEAC website and my case say "READY" BUT I have received any notification either by email or mail from NVC. Please what next step do I expect? Can I go ahead a fill the DS-160 form, medicals as well as set interrier date even without receiving the hardcopy of notification from my embassy?....

Please I will appreciate any useful info.

Thanks

Do you have your case number? If so you could start filling the DS-160 form but you should check the embassy specific information because some have you wait until you get another packet from them before moving forward and some allow you to start once you have a case number

That's a good question. I'm sure that it varies with every country, but the hardcopy from NVC won't do you any favors. As long as you have the invoice number you are set to fill out the ds-160 etc

For example, I received the hardcopy last week, which by that time, we were at the embassy doing the interview...

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

Something doesn't sound right. Nothing ever gets sent to NVC only USCIS or your Embassy. I'd make another call to see if you indeed get a second opinion.

For those that got RFE and got approved, do you receive an email/txt when they receive the package or is it just straight decision that we're waiting for?

I have read others have received a notification that it was received, just like they did for the petition. Not sure if this is by letter or email though.

I just dropped mine off at the Post Office and they gave me a First Class Mail tracking number just in case. My envelope was pretty thick so crossing my fingers it makes it ok. WA State to CA should be ok.

No text msg or any notification for acceptance for your RFE. Check you CEAC for update to your record.
