Got My RFE

They're demanding to know if the website I used was IMBRA

dateinasia.com

I used exact same website. I thought for sure I would get an RFE but did not. At the last moment I wrote "www.dateinasia.com" under where/how we met.

Did you actually put the name of the website on the I-129F or just said "met on-line"?

Regardless they do have a terms of service which I printed and was ready to send in for the RFE that never came.

I sent dateinasia an email and they replied as well.

Just do that and you should have your NOA 2 approval in 2 weeks or less.

Congrats you are almost there.

I actually put "used free site dateinasia.com" in the i-129f. Which is why I was baffled as to why they said they have no idea which website we met..... it was right there! I even took a screenshot of part of the i-129f I submitted

That's the thing!!!! I put on the 1-129F "we met on free dating site dateinasia.com see attachment* " yet they said I didn't specify which website we met????!?!?!

Ok ignore my last response. I just read this now.

Sometimes it just comes down to luck of the draw as to who your adjudicator was. It's all good. You will have that NOA 2 in hand soon enough.

Now I have to ask.... maybe it's cuz I'm stupid.

But don't you think that...... if these guys deal with this on a typical basis in this day and age, with all the technology at their fingertips to go ahead and do background checks and stuff, as well as send out RFE's probably on a daily basis, that this would become familiar with them?

Like for example.. I work in IT. I'm NOT an IT person, I hate computers actually, but working in helpdesk, you deal with a lot of different problems... on a routine basis. To the point that you get to memorize a lot because you do a lot... routinely. For example, if someone tells me, "my outlook is giving me issues, it won't open" 2 years ago I would have been like "......... dude you're so screwed I have no clue what to do." now it's 2nd nature to just rebuild the profile.

So... with google at their fingertips.... and doing this job day in and day out.... wouldn't they know that... most sites are not IMBRA... and if all it takes is just sending them terms and conditions of the website. Is it so hard to think they couldn't just save time and money by just going to the site themselves?

Government officials are a different breed altogether. Think of them as robots, stupid in - stupid out. So dateinasia.com may not mean anything to them but Date In Asian may have. Or best I can think is that they need the TOS to complete your processing. If they were audited on their work and it was not there then they get a demerit on their evaluation.

Best thing to do is not try and figure out the Government.

I understand and agree with you. Keep in mind, they are Government employees. They may not be allowed to research dating websites. If they read something and go "hmm", that could be their motivation to press the "RFE" button. I honestly don't know. I do know that K-1 visas are not the only type of immigration work that they do. I know, from a former inside source and various articles that I have read, that they have a very tight schedule, quotas to meet, accuracy, evaluations, and etc.

All I can say is what worked for me. In line 34a all I wrote was "see attachment" (I wanted to make them look  ). The attachment was two brief paragraphs. Very first thing was who, where, when, and how. This was my first sentence: "I met Janine on the www.LoveAwake.com free dating site August 14th 2013. Then I briefly went in to details of how when we transitioned from the site to Skype and then finally meeting in person. I doubt they read past the first sentence. I am one of those that did not include the "terms" page. My fiance will have that at the interview (just in case).

Here are a couple of links, good reading. Wished I would have found this before.

Went to Embassy at 8:30 as I scheduled the interview for 9:30. But we were on Nica time, which means nothing is on time. Got past security easily and they gave us a number. They finally called our number at 2:30 ish. Went to a window w where a lady shuffled thru through all our documents.

"How and when did you meet?"

"Have you been married before"

"Where you gonna live"

Then we sat back down and waited some more. I'd say about 40 min until we went to another guy. Asked us the same questions. Didn't even ask for our additional evidence.

Took fingerprints. Told us he'll Get the visa stuff in about 6 days. Then we went to pizza hut to FINALLY eat something

We are planning on him coming feb 4 to do a civil ceremony either that day or the next.

God is good. Thank you Lord we made it. And thank you to this invaluable site

Best thing to do is not try and figure out the Government.

That is exactly what it is. The government employee has to go down a list of boxes and check them off as directed in their manual. When they are reviewed if the adjudicator did not check the box they could receive a negative mark if that case is selected by their manager for review. Sending out the RFE covers (the box)

The law for IMBRA was put there do address a certain issue of potential abuse. If the beneficiary came here and ended up getting murdered you can bet it will be in the news and they will be tracking down to see if USCIS did what it was mandated to do. i.e. (did the employee insure that the agency/website used by petitioner was not an international marriage broker.)

So it truly can be hit or miss and comes down to which employee reviewed your case, what type of work load they have and what they had or didn't have for breakfast.

Question to Greenbaum!!! (or maybe someone else knows). How do you think , will I have an administrative check after the interview(221a) under the circumstances that I had been working at the Nuclear Power Plant for 3 years(after that I had a work in a different branch - purchase, economics) . My course of study at the university was Applied Mathematics and Computer Technologies.
