I got a receipt number yesterday through electronic notification.

We are very excited.

My mom works for the USCIS, not at the lockbox place, so she said that front loading it with sufficient evidence is fine, overdoing the evidence isn't necessary unless someone personally feels they need to do that.

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I guess I'll find out the hard way. Haha. Doing it myself I was aware of the risks. So if prompted to I'll send one in. I look forward to being able to help others out soon. This site is great. Thanks again for your info and quick responses.

I'd like to offer you some help because you have already experienced a "gotcha". I created a website with step by step instructions for those who are processing through The Philippines USEM Manila. I will take you every step of the way. You will know what documents you need, you will know where to find the most current and you will also know where and when to present them. Many have used my website and not one as received a RFE. The best part is it's FREE. The link is below at the red twisting arrow. Find the tab your on now and then scroll down to the step you are. You will also see the next steps which will advise you what to do next.

Another recommendation:

The best place to be to get answers to your questions is in the sub-forum for your country. To find the sub-forum for your country go to the top of this page, select "Forums", then scroll down the page to "General Discussion Area", then within that area scroll a little ways down to "Regional Discussions". Once in your regional discussion forum go ahead and post your question and those who are knowledgeable for many of your questions "why this", "can you explain this", "where is this" or "why is it taking so long" can be answered by visa veterans.

Just a recommendation to relieve your stress and to enlighten you on what is available in the way of help. Here is the link for the Philippines sub-forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Good luck.

hey welcome!! We have a long road ahead... The only thing i can advice you now is to just print put more evidence of your relationship and wait...

Theres nothing you can do now until they approve your petition.

Didnt you mail and affidavit with your packet??

According to what I've read and seen thus far, it's not required until the beneficiary's interview or unless asked for before then. I may have been misinformed though. I sure hope not. I spent hours upon hours assembling everything.

The I-864 is not sent in with the I-129F. It's submitted at the interview (if asked for by the CO) and for the AOS processing once you are married and in the states.

On the K1 visa guide here it says it was needed to prove the Petitioner has adequate support for the beneficiary... Your taxes etc.

I dont want to misinform anyone but i simply followed the guidelines here. Maybe its needed maybe its not hopefully someone else can give you better advice

The K-1 Visa Guide here on VJ does not list the I-864 as a document needed unless of course, the petitionary does not meet the minimum financial requirements then a close relative then submits one at the time of interview along with other proof 1040, W2 letter of employment etc.

I provided the 325 form with letter from my employer. I am hoping that my position and salary would influence the consulate a little in advance.

I don't think it hurts.

I followed the guides here... And it said it was needed and to submit a new one for the interview... It wouldn't hurt right?? My fiance is an attorney and we held off filing until his accountant was back from vacation and gave him his recent tax needed not needed guess it wouldn't hurt

Front loading a submittal is not required and not recommended. Your only opening yourself up to additional scrutiny. Stick with what is asked. For the interview it is always good to use your Embassy's letter as it will have what they want and if it is not in the letter don't submit it.

More information can be devastating as you maybe opening a "can of worms" that you didn't intend to which will delay your processing.

BTW, the K-1 Guide here on VJ DOES NOT LIST THAT DOCUMENT ANYWHERE (I-864).

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Ethiopia
Timeline

My reasoning for providing my financial was to direct them to that. In my mind if there is a question it comes from financial, would be mine.

Since I'm near 6x the income level required and in a very stable industry position, that should give confidence to the reviewer of something.

But then again I have no basis to support that. No info from visa journey regarding process at my embassy. All I have is bits and pieces from others, and those that went before from other countries.

Really tough not having a set pattern to follow.

Most certainly for those going thru Manila do exactly what Greenbraun says and you should have the same results.
