Good to see another UK filer! I've got my medical booked in for tomorrow, any advice you can give me as to how it was, as you're a bit ahead of me? Best of luck with the interview when you have it!

You should come over to the UK forum there's a few more of us there :)

Medical is straight forward, my apt was 11:30 but i got there at 9:30 and they saw me immediately which was fab.

The receptionist takes all your paperwork and gives you a form to fill in which is pretty much the same as the one they send to complete before you go & then in any order you will see

The doctor who checks your form, has a chat about your general health and any issues/medications you currently have and does a pretty thorough examination - blood pressure, reflexes, blood test, height, weight, eye test etc and the infamous peek down your undies

Have a chest x ray (checking for TB)

See the nurse to check off your vaccinations

Then you get called back to reception to pay the £250, they'll give you a copy of your vaccination sheet & tell yu that your results will be with the embassy in about 4 days if all is ok - do not lose this you need it for AOS!

It was all really stress free and painless - even the blood test, everyone was really nice and friendly

Try not to worry (impossible I know!) it will be fine and you will be one step closer to the end of this journey :)

My interview is 2nd Feb, I am distracting myself by clearing the house as the sale completes next Friday

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Will do. I just can't think of what it could be. I hope it's something simple and stupid and not something that would ruin the whole process.

Most times it does not effect the "whole" process. Be patient, you'll know soon enough.

Hello All,

I have a question regarding Singapore Police clearance.

If I have the NOA2, a copy of the check list letter from embassy and the letter from NVC stating our case number and that its been forwarded to the embassy, can I use this as document proof to get a police clearance from Singapore.Ive heard people say you need a specific document from the manila embassy alled a request letter. I sent a request to the embassy for this letter but they have not responded back yet

Im just hoping maybe the documentation I have is enough.

Use this site http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html to get the details of what is required and how to submit the necessary documents for your PC.

Certificate of Clearance

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) no longer issues the Certificate of Clearance (COC) to non-Singapore citizens. However, if a COC is still required by a non-Singapore citizen, he/she may wish to submit an appeal to SPF. The applicant can submit scanned copies of the below documents to spf_cid_coc@spf.gov.sg. The processing time is about 10 working days.

1. The appeal form of which a copy is attached below;

http://www.mfa.gov.sg/content/dam/mfa/images/om/Canberra/COC_APPEAL_APPLICATION_FORM.pdf

2. An official letter from USEM which requires the COC. This letter should bear the applicant’s name and a file reference number; and

3. Applicant's current passport and expired passport(s), if any, as proof of stay in Singapore.

Please can anyone reassure me that a screen shot of the case status from CEAC "READY" canbe used as a sub for the NVC letter. Thank you so much!

I can not only assure you that the screen shot is evidence for SLEC but can also invite you to read my website and all these kind of questions are answered for you. You can rest assured that you will be processing with the most current information for USEM. Many can attest to getting approved using my step by step guide. Hello all :)

Technically I am an October flier but that thread is a deserted wasteland so I have been mostly following your antics in here.

Thought I would wander in, say hi and hope that I don't get summarily evicted for being an unlawful tenant

I'll be in the corner over there, out of sight just sitting quietly...

Hey! Feel free to add your 2 cents. Every penny counts. No sitting quietly---participate.

Tell us your story....

Getting ahead of myself here but wondering if any of you have some input. My fiancé already has a SSN from when he lived in America as a student and then for one year on his OPT visa. Could this streamline any part of our process concerning AP and EAD approval or is receiving a SSN play a more minor role in this whole game?

Thanks for the welcome all :goofy:( emoticon used for no reason, I just like it lol)

$50 for the medical - wow! but then I am guessing that $50 goes much further in Ethiopia than here in the UK?

Re the SSN, sorry but it will make no difference to the AOS process :(

Here is a link where the RFE and access to a master VJ member RFE list and what they sent to satisfy the RFE. This is a good read if you are anticipating an RFE.

The SSN is only needed for employment, filing taxes and for opening bank or retail accounts and registration for selective service if you are required to register. It is not need for beneficiary for the filing of the AOS package.
