Not necessarily true. When I received my NOA2, it was on a Friday at almost 10pm est when I got the notification. I had thought the same and was surprised. Not saying it is a guarantee tonight, but people are usually notified late in the day.

Same for us, we got ours at 10:30 p.m. central time. You never know!

Well folks, I'm back. Just got an update on my status. Good news is, my packet wasn't the office floormat afterall. Bad news, we got an RFE. But I'm ok. We waited 52 days, we can wait a couple more days to find out what they need. Plus, my wonderful fiance is visiting in 2 weeks. I am just glad to hear something, anything. Thank you all for the support during my waiting and ranting. Hope others waiting receive good news soon for peace of mind. :)

Today it's also been 52 days since our NOA1 and even though we're sad to hear there was an RFE to your case, we're glad to know it is almost over!

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of RFE was yours? Because I keep thinking about our petition and we put so much effort to it to make sure it's flawless that we can't really picture what they'd ask us in case of an RFE. :dead:

Not sure yet, the case status update just states that they mailed the RFE today. I probably will receive it Tuesday or so. I will share when I find out what it is. I had a hunch all along that we might get an RFE. I read somewhere else on the forum that if you don't state which dating website you met on and include the terms of service, they will RFE in concern that it is still an International Marriage broker. We checked no to international marriage broker on the application but in my statement I said we initially started contact on a dating website but did not specify which one.

Another thing it could be and perhaps why our NOA2 took so long: my fiance filled out his parents information on his bio incorrectly. They each do not go by their given FIRST names and he forgot to list their real given names.

Another possibility is that we sent a copy of the page of his passport that was stamped for US entry when we met but not his whole passport? I don't know, our mental list of possibilities is streaming at the moment. lol But I will go through our packet tonight to see where I might have gone wrong.

All good--not bad.

But we have us another idea for a product to market. The I-129F floor mat. I'll work on that tonight.

Lol! Yes. Seriously though, I thought either floormat or they were using my packet to wipe up coffee spills. But we're good. Pheww! :jest:

Got the RFE in the mail today, they are asking for more evidence that we have met in the past two years, tickets, passport stuff, photos etc.. I don't know why but I have sent all of this already.. Oh well.. Atleast that was easy and I know I filed it correctly.

We never got the email or the text after the original one for the NOA1 but I got the letter in the mailbox today saying that it has been sent to the consular office. I just requested an interview date on the advice of a fellow Nepal lover. :)

That's good new about hearing something. Just return the RFE with the information and I think you will hear something positive 2 weeks later.

How long do they give you to respond with more evidence?
