Hi everyone,

Did anyone that filed in November specifically file for a cuban finance? I sent in the application for my fiance on Nov.27th and it was received on December 16th. Our application was sent to TX and then redirected to CA, I have yet to receive our NOA2, I know it has only been a couple of weeks but thought I'd ask and share experiences along the journey. Thanks!

SO my RFE says I need to submit a passport style photo of the beneficiary. I did this.

It was alittle bigger than the normal passport size by maybe a quarter inch. Is this the issue?

Or is the issue that I printed it at walgreens but it was a photo of the passport photo he sent in email?

I dont wanna get another RFE but I dont wanna whatever amount of time it will take him to send me the picture what do you think I should do?

Thanks

Lara

Recommendation for what we did.

Aisha had photos done while I was with her. But I lost them on the trip back to the USA--bad Jaime. The studio of course used digital camera so they had the file, which was emailed to me.

You can use a Smart Phone Camera, or whatever camera you have to shoot the picture. On as near a white background as possible. If not white, then go to Pixlr Editor to color correct backgroun--see below.

I used the free version of this application:

1) https://www.epassportphoto.com/ (look on bottom of the page for the free version), or

2) you can also use the one from US State Dept http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/photos/digital-image-requirements.html

Send the resulting file, which will be the correct size to Wal-Mart online for printing. You can pick up in 1 hour or next day for a few dollars.

If the picture is not exactly 2x2, like Aisha's was a tad bit under the spec. You can use free Google photo app "Pixlr Editor" (same as photo shop) to add a tad more edging to make sure it is exactly 2x2 (if you don't know how to do it, ask someone who knows how to do it help you).

That's it. No stress. There are more things to be stressed over than a picture.....

Hope that helps

Hi,

Welcome to the party. No stress on your NOA2. You got a while to go. Recommend getting a paper bag now, because you are checking so early I can tell you are going to be like me. Hyperventilation just thinking about all that might go wrong. :sleepy:

EMBASSY SAYS READY FOR INTERVIEW!

You got this...this is what you been planning for all your life. Okay, maybe not all your life but I'm sure it seems like a long time.

Either way. You got.

Off Topic: Peru is my absolutely number one country I have ever spent time in, if I could do it I would retire there. Lima and Huaraz are awesome places. Also, as a shorter man 5'8" I felt like a power forward for the NBA walking around downtown; which was good for the ego.

Thanks tyler for the reply sorry I hadnt been logging in last day or two Sent out required paperwork today.

Keep us posted. You're in my prayers everyday.

Thanks for all your help.

I just looked at the language on the letter they sent and they said that it needs to be taken within 30 days of the receipt of this petition so he has to take a new one anyway. SIIIIGH. Ill be patient for him to mail it this time.....express :clock: . Itll be a lot faster than a second RFE... I think your right about that. taking deeeep breaths. :hehe:

I'm just curious; how would they know that the picture was taken withing 30 days of the receipt of the petition? I'm waiting for my RFE to arrive in the mail, hopefully tomorrow. I am very eager to find out what it is they need. I didn't think picture are that critical.

Oh I dont think they would know but he just has to take a new one because the first one we sent in would be obviously taken longer than 30 days about since we sent the app about 2 months ago. Also on my RFE was that I didn't send in the right kind of birth certificate I guess so im just sending my passport copies. Good luck I hope your RFE arrives tommorow to put your mind at ease :)

Thanks, I'm just glad something is happening, even if I need to send in more "evidence". I can't even imagining a second RFE; I haven't heard of anyone getting one of those.

I went thru yesterday's mail that I didn't look thru, see letter from USCIS

"Oh #######" I thought to myself, "but I checked the case status thing and it said they received the case?? no RFE or anything!"

I open the letter nervously

Inside I find..... my certified copy of my birth certificate I sent in with the petition..... but... I requested like 4 copies so that I wouldn't have to worry about an RFE for my birth certificate.....

nothing else in the envolope.....

Guys..... I think USCIS doesn't believe I exist...... that's the only logical conclusion I can think of.

There's no way someone would look at the petition and go

"This fool sent us his birth certificate..... let make a copy and send him his birth certificate back."

When can I expect SWAT and the FBI to raid my house like some bad X-files episode?

You can try, not sure it will work. My fiancé's medical is today and they wanted to see the confirmation page of the interview made....meaning they wouldn't have done it without an interview scheduled. Have your fiancé call the various docs that do those visa medicals and ask them.

The worst they can say is no
