Hello Kay & Tony

NVC received our case this past Friday Jan 8. So it is still showing at NVC.

They should be releasing the February dates in another week or two... or as imekai said, when the January slots fill up a little more.

ooops, my bad..failed to check your timeline before posting...I just realized you already have your case number

You can still pull it off for May. I'm guessing you're waiting to be married before leaving on your training mission.

So 15 April is your goal--that gives you 10 days lag in case of minor hold ups.

Assume worse case timeline:

RFE response received date to USCIS- 1 Feb (you need to get it there faster than this date)

USCIS response to RFE resulting in NOA 2- 20 Feb

Interview - 15 April APPROVED

So this means you better have your marriage planned and ready to execute.

The other scenario is because Germany embassy takes 2 months to get to the interview stage, you schedule your interview after you get back-- I know this is not what you want, but it is still an option.

Ok ,so I figured out how to put a positive spin on receiving the RFE. Using the timeline above I think I now have plenty of time to go visit my fiancee one more time before we (hopefully) make our trip to the US together. We haven't been together since early October and I thought it might be another 4 months. Thanks to all the information on forums like these, I think I have a better idea on what to expect from this point on. So, I'll be packing my bags soon

I told her today, and she was happy :)

Cool!

Heard that the letter from NVC takes long to arrive in the mail and that the screenshot @ Ready is okay to be able to do the medical, but my fiance prefers that I have the confirmation for the interview appointment because he does not want to take the risk of me being turned away... I tried to assure him the screenshot is okay based on those that have done the same but he insist that I have what exactly is required <_<That's why I'm eager for the Feb calendar to open, but as you guys said, it won't be in a week or so :D

Can be 30 to 60 days to get the "letter". If you have the right documents you don't get turned away.

I just spent the last 20 minutes reading this forum and all of the posts that have been made since the last time I checked (just 12 hours ago) - amazing! There's so much encouragement and good advice to go around :star: Having so many people share these feelings really helps a lot.

Many have already said this...but here's to a great week and many MANY NOA2s and other important milestones! :joy:

PS. My fiancee is very worried we will receive a RFE because we made a mistake and included family name instead of our mother's maiden names on our forms (both petitioner and beneficiary)... Thanks to this forum, I have assured her that RFE can be a positive thing. But I'm curious, does anyone have experience with a problem like using family name instead of maiden name for the parents section being the cause for an RFE?

Just to clarify. I based the timeline on Germany. Germany seems to have 1.5-2 month from receipt of package to interview dates. If it is just a coincidence that people scheduled that way, or it is normal for that embassy I don't know. Just seems to be a pattern, because I assume everyone is like us and wants to schedule interview as soon as possible.

You need to check on the Philippine info network with Obiwon Greenbaum to verify that this schedule would be reasonable for you too.

I would suggest to have a corrected form filled out and ready to send to them in the event of an RFE. I looked at the RFE's available here and another site and don't see any for that. I read some posts of people putting the wrong names and nothing being said. Best thing to do is be prepared and wait.

Hopefully you will have good news this week

Я изучал русский язык в Сан-Антонио, когда я служил в военно-воздушных сил.

I would guess Randolph. Only because it is AETC. I know up on the hill at Lackland is where the 'big ear' is located with all the linguistics people. But my final answer is Randolph.

It was Lackland in the early 80s. Not sure if they still teach that there or have moved to Monterey, CA.

No brainer questions: ?

1. Where do we address the updated Letter of Intent to Marry that is required for the interview?

2. Can we use staples in compiling the requirements needed on the interview?

Thank you! We just wanna make sure.

By the way my fiancé (the petitioner) got our NAO2 hard copy from the mail today. We're just gathering some documents that we needed while waiting for the Case Number. (MNL case number) ??

1. Where do we address the updated Letter of Intent to Marry that is required for the interview? The letter of intent is no long required at the interview for USEM. If you feel you would like to have one, in the rare instance they ask for one, then you can leave the address blank and make it out to "to who it concerns" or you can address it to USEM.

Embassy of the U.S., Manila

1201 Roxas Blvd

Ermita, Manila

1000 Metro Manila, Philippines

2. Can we use staples in compiling the requirements needed on the interview? You can use staples, but they prefer paperclips.

Thank you so much, Greenbaum.

Another question: Can we schedule the medical exam and interview if the status of the case is not yet "READY"?
