So basically, i can only schedule an interview and medical exam once USEM recieved our case? Coz "Ready" status means USEM got the case, ya? Thank you! ??

Yes you begin with paying your interview fee, scheduling your interview, then scheduling your medical (remember you visa expiration date is tied to you medical and is only 6 months in length so schedule your medical 7-10 days before the interview", complete you DS-160 and CFO. Gather two important documents and that is the CENOMAR and NBI.

Joining this group a little late. Seems like a lot of applications around our time are already passed the NOA2 hurdle - fingers crossed for speedy approval for everyone (like myself) still patiently waiting!

I appreciate all the information and encouragement I've gained from reading VJ forums. It's been great!

so ..what is next after noa 2 ??

"This thread is for bonding. Go to your specific country thread and follow their specifics...."

Or something like that.

Opps We (Ethiopia) have no thead. It is basically you and I.

So this is what I have done---

  1. Took 2 days to decompress. Did nothing
  2. Completed the 160 in draft, just to do something
  3. Made general comments on VJ
  4. Got stressed out by reading other VJ threads in prep for interview
  5. Started calling NVC 7 business days after NOA2 date

That is pretty much where I am at. Sort of winging it from this point.

  1. Once I have NVC number I'll submit the 160
  2. Track the DHL package to Ethiopia
  3. Give Embassy 2 days after package arrives before I call them to ask questions about when to schedule interview
  4. Schedule interview online
  5. Schedule air trip
  6. Have Aisha go to medical/police
  7. Arrive 2 days in advance of interview to prep
  8. Interview --- Pay for visa (Im still not sure if I pay Visa at Embassy, or online)

I think this is what I am doing.

:rofl::rofl::wow::wow::lol::lol:

Congrats!:thumbs::yes::yes::dance::dance: Can I ask for Evette personally when I start calling?? I like her already...

Thank you thank you! Hopefully you will talk to her or at least somebody that will give you good news.

I asked her where she was from (she had an accent) and she said Bawstun aka Boston. Told her I used to live in that part of the world and miss the accent. She said "I don't have an accent... YOU do!"

In all honesty, everybody I spoke with was nice. But of course, she was my favorite.

Thank you! I've seen a lot of the posts here and they're great. Going back in time we probably didn't need to go through an attorney (I was swayed by my sister who recommended a colleague)...but I can see now this forum and the entire VJ site has everything you'd need .

Oh well, can't change it now! Trying to be optimistic :)

Oh well, can't change it now! Trying to be optimistic :)

I consulted with three different attorneys due to my fears of putting the petition together. Hiring an attorney just made sense. But it seemed that with the attorney, I was still doing most of the work. Thanks to this wonderful group and all of the information here... I decided to take the plunge and did it myself.

Don't have any regrets and look ahead.

Will you have access to the text message or email alerts?
