Hello VJ family I just check my status at the USCIS webpage and I saw I have been....... APPROVED .......since 5th January.. Too excited.... But I didn't get any email or text or the hardcopy yet...... please what's the next step helppp

Yaaay congrats!! Now you have to wait for USCIS to send your file to NVC. after around 2 weeks you should call them the see if they recieved your aproved petition and ask for your new case number.

Like Ella&Joe said, you will probably receive your hard copy within a week or two. When you receive the hard copy, you can either wait two weeks and begin calling NVC for your case number. Or, you can begin calling NVC the following day after it arrives and call every day thereafter... like the rest of us.... every single day :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Note: The scripted response is "It usually takes 30 to 45 days" :bonk:

Yes, I missed that one. Not sure how--everyone else can (I'm not so smart). And I can't find it detailed anywhere. I'm guessing, this is my guess, that first I have to get that magical number from NVC. With that I can do all things great and wonderful. Without it, I'm just a fish out of water.

Not really. You can sit and wait for the powers of the almighty government do it for you. Does it ever get freezing cold in Ethiopia? <_< By getting your case number, you are able to sometimes shave off 1-2 months waiting time. That's all we are doing here. Speeding up the process because the government moves in one speed. When we are control we can move as the speed of sound but the government well, that's another story.

When I call I have a 'scripted request'. I use the soft I'm clueless please help me voice. I tried the Ricardo Montalban but they didn't understand me.

I asked them if I have the right number to help me find out if my approved K-1 petition had been received at the NVC. They always say the same thing...Yes I can help you, what is your receipt number.

It is a "No", but I know that already because it is too early--I just call because I can't wait
