Every time I have called the NVC, I have been put on hold for about 10 minutes. Every time, they have been really nice. I am actually surprised, I had always thought government workers were not friendly and wanted to rush you. After you give them your USCIS case number, they ask you a few questions: What is your name? What is your fiance's name? What is your fiance's date of birth? Then I asked if I could have my NVC case number, they gave it to me along with an invoice number. Not hard at all.

Thanks for the quick and perfect answer!

NVC gurus--- We know there is no "first come first service" or other easily identified process for the NOA1 evaluations. Any idea if the NVC is more systematic?

Is it easier to figure out when our NOA2 should be next for a #, based on the people ahead of us?

And tracking the visa stuff on the ceac site

https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Select IV (immigrant visa). Even though K1 is nonimmigrant, the assumption is that they will immigrate.
