There you are! Welcome back to the Shire.

Yes you have been missed for sure.

I'm sure you would rather be there then on this forum though..hehe

Good luck on your medical.

My fiancee in Manila will have hers on Monday as well.

Let us know how it goes!

What is next for you 2 after that?

Someone asked who's still waiting for their NOA2's.. I'm one of them haha

Also, there was a minor "update" in our case: our receipt number that used to not work AT ALL (both app, website & phone) started working today. I'm a little more relieved, cause before I wasn't even sure they actually received it!!! lol

But guys I've read some comments saying about their case being "touched" by an adjucator. If that is the case, how do we find that out? Also, is it a good idea to get a MyUSCIS account? :joy:

Had a busy night last night. Got my NVC number (wasn't even put on hold...wow), raced home from kids church, filled out DS-16 and paid the visa fee. Instructed to wait til 1pm next business day. Not sure if there is a cutoff time for that but I'll be trying to do that today. And if not today tomorrow for sure. According to the Nica embassy website the next available time is Jan 19 for interview. Hoping to get my name on that one since I will already be in the country visiting my fiancé! Baaaaaaaaaaah here's hoping I won't have to make an extra trip to that interview!

We're also still waiting for our NOA2. I've been watching the group of November filers who are about the same time frame as us and for days there has been very little change. Naturally I'm trying to make some sense out of it all, but of course that's not doing any good. So we keep waiting.... :)

I was wondering if signing up for email and/or text alert from the USCIS does any good. I created an account and signed up for email alerts but I still go to the site several times throughout the day, all in hopes to see some change of status. I don't know if the agency actually sends out change of status emails.

Did anyone find signing up for email alerts to be helpful? If so, are they timely?

thank you

I signed up for email alerts (as well as using apps and checking the status myself every hour!), and found that I got an email through as soon as a change was made to give me my NOA2.

I am so excited. I just called the NVC and received my NVC case number. That wait between NOA2 and getting my NVC case number felt like forever. But the lady said my case is ready and will be shipped to the embassy soon.

Every time I have called the NVC, I have been put on hold for about 10 minutes. Every time, they have been really nice. I am actually surprised, I had always thought government workers were not friendly and wanted to rush you. After you give them your USCIS case number, they ask you a few questions: What is your name? What is your fiance's name? What is your fiance's date of birth? Then I asked if I could have my NVC case number, they gave it to me along with an invoice number. Not hard at all.
