Wow did you just bring back some memories of my childhood. I am of Norwegian decadence and always remember Dad using that expression. The funny thing is you also brought up a nick name for my younger sister who could talk up a storm. Here name was Kathy and we called her Chatty-Kathy.

Ever enjoy a plate of Lutefisk. My mother is Swedish and my Father Norwegian. They would bake that for Christmas Eve and have my Grandmother over. That was her favorite dish. Yuk!

Hahah awesome....not the lutefisk though...blech! If your fish wiggles and jiggles like jello and you have to douse it in butter....no way...Pass the Doritos!

But who am I to talk. The other part of me is German. And all the German food we ever have is white, with dough, and lots of butter

Jamie, have you been to Serbia? :)

haha okay so not that much older :)))

One stupid question, Im so confused now... On the site it says this

Affidavit of Support For Fiancé(e), Spouse, or Child as a “K” Nonimmigrant

If your relative is either a “K-1” fiancé(e), a “K-3” spouse, or a “K-2” or “K-4” child of fiancé(e) or spouse, you do not need to submit an affidavit of support at the time you file your Form I-129F petition. Instead, you should submit an affidavit of support at the time that your fiancé(e), spouse, or child adjusts status to permanent resident after coming to the United States.

Does that mean we dont need affidavit to take to the interview?!

The I-864 is submitted with the I-485 when you adjust your status after marriage (K-1's only). At the interview most embassy's want the I-134 only. Check with the Embassy for your required documents as it may include the I-134. The Philippines has stopped asking for it but it is still listed as a document they may ask for. I still recommend, until they post an official notice not to produce the I-134, that you prepare the I-134 for the interview.

Just a question... Why wait until you are so old to have children? You can't really enjoy them if you can't play with them, and you will probably not be around to even meet your grandchildren if u wait too long.

You speak the truth. My children's mother and I had them when we were 44. Had a single boy and twin girls. I always regretted the age with which we had children. Never regretted having kids. Now with a merged family there are 8 of us and now a grandchild.

Don't stress, it's sporadic. Just have patience, mine was the 23rd or 25th and I'm still waiting I figure it could take a few more weeks.

When dealing with the government, it's always good to add a few weeks to the mix.

First find a brown paper bag. Breath into it. That will help bring the freaking out under control...temporary relief, so keep the bag around.

After that, just tell us how you guys met.

Thank you Jaime I will try to enjoy every moment of this process and yes you're absolutely right I am grateful that our petition went to cali. ALHAMDOLILAH!!!

Asalaam alaykum, my apology, I meant to enjoy for us to everyday of our life.

It is okay to not like this process. Some call it a 'journey'. Myself it feels like walking barefoot over broken glass. Or some horror film where you are in the dark woods, and the boogyman is out to get you. I call No Joy on this process. I've heard it said you will appreciate the end that much more. Again, I rather avoid the spiritual moon dance of self awareness that this process is advertised to conjure up, and just pay a dollar fee at the port of entry; ahhh yes we also have to pay $$$ to go along with our spiritual carpet ride. Do I laugh or cry?:cry:

Any hoot. All is good in the land of Visa-Shire. At least we have all these people in our Nov group to help us through. You are not alone. Got some great people here.

Everything will work out, inshallah

Happy New Year to you!!

Just enjoy your visit. Of course you can be watching for the approval together. That would be wonderful to celebrate the approval together.

I am thinking that investing in paper bags for VJ members would be a lucrative venture

Good luck!!

Good idea. Tyler could market, you manage, and I could be demonstrator model. Could put logo on them.

You're on to something there.
"VJ Survival Kit" with detailed instructions listed below. "Place opening of bag in mouth. Inhale... Exhale... Repeat".
Wonder how much it would cost to monogram a paper bag...

We need to get the VJ paper bag project started ASAP. I've been following Jaime's lead and tracking some additional case numbers close to my NOA1 date....problem is I about had a HEART ATTACK  when they started pinging tonight thinking maybe one was ours. Even though I KNOW I shouldn't expect it this week... :bonk:

I think I need a prediction to focus me away from our timeline estimate....who's giving them now? Tyler....???

See I wasn't making it up...I knew that was the last we saw of her....

I remembered that post of hers, but still.....:rofl::rofl:

here's one for the paper baggers:

spent an hour+ last night entering nvc numbers similar to mine to see why people (you know who you are!) who got to the nvc after me were ready in bkk before me. it gave me statistical reassurance that the bkk embassy received a huge box of new years petitions and are struggling to catch up.

this morning 10am we were marked ready on the nvc sight. yay!!!

that's when I realised this was all just procrastination because I've got plenty else to do before our packet 3 is ready to send. hopefully done Monday.

good luck to everyone, and if you have noa2, get your packet 3 ready now, rather than after your embassy receives your petition!

Yeah, I got caught with my pants down too. I swore I was going to send in packet 3 the day the embassy showed ready. But my I-134 is still in the mail to Bangkok. I hope to send it in Monday or Tuesday as well.

Goodmorning, everyone!

Has anyone else noticed that the estimation of the date they're processing has been stuck as Nov 30th since Monday?

Is that some sort of coincidence (last day of a month) or they're actually clearing all the November filers' petitions and getting some work done?

Does anybody know of any October filers still waiting for their NOA2?

Excepting that Haiti case we saw here the other day, I haven't seen any December filers getting NOA2's.
