I wrote a 10 page history of our relationship (we've been together 6 years) and included pictures of each of us with both families and special occasions. I also submitted the history of my points of entry into the US (which immigration had on file) and itineraries of trips to Florida together. Also we both write up intent to marry affidavits and passport photos. We each got all documents notarized. It took about 4 weeks to pull it all together.

We received the NOA1 on the 13th of October, but still nothing!

My fiancé didn't want to include conversations of any sort though, just pictures with our respective families; boarding passes, itineraries, a couple of bookings, compared billings of our usage of the credit card in the same places. I'm getting kind of worried we're going to get an RFE.

I probably check it 15 times per day; still saying just "case received"; and we got the hardcopy on the 15th of October. I assume our case just got underneath some other.

Hello there, I've come across some horror stories on here and so I figured I'd share mine as a glimmer of hope (unless of course I'm misinterpreting this whole process) - Filed i129f on 14-Oct-2015 at the CA service centre, received NOA1 dared 20-Oct-2015, and NOA2 dated 12-Nov-2015 - that's a brilliant turn around and no where near the estimated 5 month period. Will keep you informed of the next few steps, good luck to all!

Ugh, I just realised we didn't have my wet signature on papers, just scanned/computer one. Anyone knowing how bad is it in case of RFE? If I'm going to be there in a week and we are requested to re-send my documents it won't be much of a hitch.

That could definitely be a problem.. Wet signatures are very important..

I have read some cases where people scan documents but made sure it was done in blue ink. Some are lucky some not so lucky.

Wet signature is always best.

I was prepared for a long wait, but at this rate all should be settled by the end of the year (I've jinxed it now haven't I)

Haha maybe not

Just a little advice for you. Every corner you turn in the processing of your visa you can second guess what you did. Try and relax. Don't second guess why something is happening for others and not you. No two cases are the same nor will they process the same. Take a deep breath and just go on about your life and you will soon have your answer. When I went through this process it was taking 3 months to see an approval at the stage your at.

Very true. I'm second guessing everything I've done and do in this process. My life, other than work, is finishing this race. My only focus.

I've taken up playing more golf, but then the time change happened and messed that up.

There are very few people with k1 from Ethiopia. So trying to figure out what to expect from there is a mystery. Reading the embassy review says to expect 3-4 months for them to review before interview. So I built my schedule and expectations on that. Then I see the most recent interview scheduled less than a month. That messes with my schedule and my mind. How to prepare and plan?

No way to control, other than just do the best you can on the paperwork. Take deep breathes, important not to forget to breath. And avoid the news stories.
