Hi guys.. NVC pissing me. We keep on getting the 35 day script... are they just not being nice? was there a chance something went wrong during this stage?

That is their standard response, "give us 30-45 days then we will notify you". You can call everyday or twice a day or thrice a day, what ever will calm your little heart. Keep calling but I would only call once a day. Best time with little or no wait time is 7:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Usually you can get through in one or two rings. Wait 5 minutes and your on hold.

thanks... ive been trying everyday. no luck. my fiance did too. :( i need the paper bags.

I am also getting the same 30-45 day response form the NVC, got NOA 2 on the 21st December, so frustrating as I hoped it would have arrived with them by now. Just got to remain persistent and keep crossing fingers. Best of luck to everyone!

so say you get RFE, do you have to send a whole new packet in ? No, you do not need to send in a new packet. Most RFE's are for what most call a "stupid" mistake.

Do you go to the end of the line? or do you just express mail what they ask and only what they ask? Use common sense. If the RFE request ask for certain documents then send just what they ask. No more and no less. The problem with front loading an application is that you open the doors for additional scrutiny because you might have stuck that one extra item and there was never a need and you set off an alarm. Hence the RFE. I say for you and others, Only supply what is asked for an do not volunteer any additional unless additional is asked for.

Do you retain your spot and once you send it in they cross it off and approve you? The RFE is for the item that is holding up the approval process. Depending on what that is will have a merit to the approval. Most applications with an RFE gets approved. Not knowing what the RFE is, prevents me from commenting further. There is no spot. Your approval rest on the process for the adjudicator. Expecting a delay would not be unheard of.

does anyone in here know or have gotten an RFE themselves but then approved? IS RFE end of world? REF is not the end of the world. It is only showing that there is a weakness in your submittal and needs to be corrected. It can be a little thing like a missing signature, or a date not entered. RFE is not the end of the world.

Hello. Congrats to those whose case has been approved. Here is just a quick question. We are at the stage of collating and trying to mail our petition, I would like to know what was used to send the whole packet, I have close to 1000 pages of both our forms and evidence. Please can you tell us the kind of envelop or folder you used, and what and what was really used? Your reply would be highly appreciated. Thanks

You can submit what ever you want for your application. Having said that, can I give you some "fatherly" advise. 1,000 pages is way to much. You are only delaying your approval.

What I am about to say is for everyone's knowledge base. Put yourself in the one who will go through your application. So I am looking at a 25 page application with everything that is required, no more and no less or I am looking at 1,000 pages of which 975 page must be touched by my hands before arriving at the 25 pages I can render a decision on. Which am I going to chose?

Overloading/front loading puts more stress and work load on the system, causing others to wait and of course yourself. Just use common sense. Use what I am about to say as a guide. Only submit what will prove that you have a bonified relationship, that your not a crook and not scamming the system to get a visa. That's my recommendation.

Do not put neat little booklets together, or use plastic pages, they don't want that. They want you to use paperclips and binder clips. That's all. Be organized with a cover letter and every document follows the order outlined in your cover letter.

Further details are on my webpage <click here>. Keep in mind that the entire website is targeted to those processing through the Philippines but the page I am directing you to is for the submittal of the I129F (K-1) and is for the use of those submitting from any country.

In the end do what do will do.

I hope this has helped.

If you are not approved at your 60 day mark you might want to send a note to the USCIS Ombudsman.

"Called NVC tonight. Gave me the 35 day script answer, but I used my extra nice and cheerful voice (I can only imagine the number of impatient, demanding, and rude people they deal with) and asked if she could confirm that they have, in fact, received my file, which she confirmed that they have. So here's to hoping they enter the info and send it away to my beloved country, Nicaragua!

Let that be an encouragement to others who got their NOA2 around the time I got mine!"

TIP

If you would like to add the flag of the country you are processing though, follow these steps: Go to the upper right hand corner, select your name and under your name chose "my profile". Next under your picture you choose "Edit my Profile". Under profile settings scroll to the bottom of the page and look for "Immigration Information". Under "Country" select your country and now save. Once you return back to any page you submitted a comment your flag will appear under your profile. Also works with new comments going forward.

I'm more jealous. The grand oracle did not provide me with the same wisdom of calling the ombudsman as he did for you. I went to day 50 with no sleep, nervous shot, and no light or hope.

So we select the country we, who are participating in this forum, are from, or the country the beneficiary is from?
