Yes that is what Tyler is saying. There have been rare instances that NVC will assign a case number after a week but the great share of those cases are not completed until after 10 working days. You can start calling after a week, but your better off to call around the 10 business day.

Checking on your embassy case number:

It will take 7 - 10 days business for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2 - 5 business days for NVC to get your file in there system and get the case # from USEM. Call at 7:00 am eastern time for shorter wait times K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get an operator:

1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Press 5 for non-immigrant visa K-1 visa.

NVC CONTACT INFORMATION:

Website: www.immigrantvisas.state.govwww.immigrantvisas.state.gov

E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov I highly recommend you email NVC for the case #, even if you call and get it, this will give you a correspondence from NVC with the case # for future reference. The email request for your case # is also a great way to track when your file is forwarded to your Embassy as NVC will not reply to the email until that time.

REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:

You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:

* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).

* Petitioner's name and date of birth.

( NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based, include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth. )

* Principal Applicant's name and date of birth.

OMG maybe I was pressing the wrong number Greenbaum? I was calling 1-603-334-0700 then pressing 3? And they said they haven't received ours... Does that mean they say that cause I chose 3 instead of 5? I was approved last Dec 16th. Thank you.

Also I asked Ted how's theirs and he said the NVC told him theirs are there already. Or I am not really lucky to talk to a nice guy?

With these robo-phone answering devices, they change the menu constantly. So my information may be "stale". Advise that you listen to the menu carefully and chose what is closes to your requirements.

Each case is different so the processing is different. Don't assume that yours will be the same as Ted's. Do the right thing and call NVC and inquire. You can call as many times that you want until you find your answer there are no limits.

Greenbaum speaks the truth. As always, thank you for your wisdom.

NVC siad they received my files but the data had not yet been entered in to their system. He said Monday would be the earliest that it would be entered in to the system. Then he said to wait two weeks and call back. I said to him "Talk to you on Monday". I have to thank HappyLaytons for that humorous reply

Where's everyone? The thread is a little quiet today eh? Still no news on our NOA2. hopefully this will be our week (maybe the week after)

Lets hope you get good news this week. I'm not making any predictions... that's Tyler's department

This week (and next week) should be very productive for USCIS. The eggnog, alcohol, and food is all long gone from the office now... so no more distractions. It's a New Year

No there is no waiting as you have to complete the medical in order to qualify for the interview so your case will be set to "ready" by the time you complete your medical. Go to my website and follow the step by step instructions beginning here: <click here>

Next step: (all the links are there, so you don't need to know where to go for the forms and receipts)

1. Print off your visa interview payment receipt

2. Go to BDO and pay your fee

3. Wait 24 hours and then schedule your appointment

4. Complete the DS-160

5. And the rest of the steps can be found at my website
