@ eric and om, thanks for the reply. yours is a timeline I've already been looking at because it's very similar to ours, so I was especially grateful to hear from you.

we have already gotten the single certificate. I believe we need the nvc case number to get the police report?

I don't mind making the call from here, $20 or even $50 is a grain of sand on the beach of this process.... I wouldn't mind saving the money of course, but mostly didn't want to call and then be told it's not ready and to call back next week.

Question for everyone especially the smart guys who've researched this stuff a ton , my receipt number is xxxxxxxxxxxx28

xxxxxxxxxxxx27 was approved on 12/9

Today

xxxxxxxxxx29, xxxxxxxxxxxx31, and xxxxxxxxxxxxx36 were all RFE'D today

Should I now be dreading I'll be RFE ????

How scary is RFE?

NOOOOOO. It is okay. Really. Because that is exactly what I was seeing. All RFE after the 15th of Dec. Then on the 24th two approvals out of nowhere--one was for me. Happened exactly as "Tyler" predicted---bang on his door again.

So have faith. If you submitted exactly what VJ guide recommended, you should be good. But even if there is a RFE--that just means 2-3 weeks. So no need to be scared.

My petition left the NVC today. :joy:

How do I check online? Or is it old school--call?

Getting an RFE is not that bad. It is that they do that so that you have an opportunity to submit was is needed. If you meet the expectations of the RFE then you will continued to be adjudicated. Just follow the directions in the RFE to the letter and you will not have any problems. Unless of course the new information cause the adjutant to question or deny your application. Rarely happens but not know your case this is the best I can do for you.

For the police report, you just need a copy of NOA2 (Which I e-mailed to her). Look into the local Thailand subsection, I wrote what she needed to take to the police to get that.

Yes, our timelines are very close. Since you are a few days ahead of me, I am pretty sure your petition is on its way to BKK now. I don't think the NVC does much more than collect the petitions and forward them to the embassy.

Once I know her interview date, I'll be going to Bangkok to be there just so she can take my passport inside and show it to the CO to demonstrate that I am waiting outside.

Let me know if I can be of help for anything. (Especially if you need or want something brought to Thailand when I go)

Keep in touch. Good luck.

I was getting really worried since i seemed to be taking longer than others,

but i've had 2 previous work visas and lived in the US with my Fiance for almost 2 years, so i guess they just had to check out those ones first and slowed me down a little !! ... On the one night i didnt check before bed too ! I had given up hope for an aproval before the new year !

Waiting...waiting...waiting. :) I used to describe myself as a somewhat patient individual. Thank goodness I signed up for email notifications. Otherwise, I'd be checking the case tracking all day long.

Eric (& om) thanks

good to know about police report and noa2.

I read the thai section threads for a while then I guess I lost track, I'll go back and check again.

I am surprised by how fast this is going. I am set to return mid Feb, I had thought she wouldn't get interview until March or April. it'll be a pleasure to pay the airline change fee if we get am interview date before I am set to go.

and now that I've found a source for real (not canned) olives. the only things I'd like in Thailand are freedom of speech/press, and democracy. I doubt those will fit in your suitcase 555

I had the email notification, phone app, and still checked on-line...nearly every hour on the hour. I couldn't just do nothing.

And like a lot of people. The NOA2 notice came in when I least expected it....
