So funny how everyone is asking for Tyler's predictions ? He is good though!

I wish and pray everyone gets their NOA2s ASAP----so they can join me and my fiancé in this anxious state we're in after finding out how many more paperwork and things we need to collect and have and do before the interview. I thought the hard part was over ?

I got the brown paper bag out again---hyperventilating.

Perhaps Greenbaum or someone else can advise on this.

I just read this (below) out of a thread in the Ethiopian section, dated September 2015. We are 25 years difference, and I thought I had that covered with 4 separate 5 days each visits in one year, letter from catholic priest attesting to discussion with him in March 2013, and of course I'm planning on being there...but now I read this (below) and out come the paper bags again...Is there anything else I should do to prepare? Or am I being edgy for no reason? :o

ah thanks mr g, you did in fact answer the second part of my question, sorry for not acknowledging that (and much thanks for your forum participation, which had already provided me a lot of good info even before you replied to my question!)

pardon my ignorance, what is USET? I'm doubting you mean the u.s.equestrian team, after all we are not horsing around with this visa stuff ha ha ha.

and to my fellow Nov 2015 k1 filers, still hoping to hear if anyone has gotten a hard copy of their nvc case number.

much thanks in advance

USET = United States Embassy Thailand but could as well been United States Equestrian Team  . That was funny.

Each Embassy has an acronym for their Embassy and The Philippines of which I am most familiar with is USEM United States Embassy Manila. Not knowing what Thailand's Embassy acronym, I made my own :crying: and it looks like goofed. If you know what the acronym is, would love to know. In further research, I could only find USEBKK. Don't know if that is correct. What say you?

I haven't, and NVC received my case last week. I'll let you know as soon as I get it.

As for Thailand, the two most time consuming things you must do is get the "Single Certificate" (at your fiancee's Amphoe) and the "Police Clearance Certificate" (In person, in Bangkok, which normally takes 3 weeks (unless you "tip")). So you should do that now.

Do you have someone stateside that can call NVC to get your case number? All they need is your USCIS case number, your name, fiancee's name and birthdate and about 20 minutes time.

That comes as a surprise to me. It shouldn't be the CO's discretion whether they are "meant for each other". I would want that USE's (United States Embassy) are not suppose to be matchmakers. Their job is to see to it that the applicant's are not of lesser character than that you would want living in your neighborhood, that they are not inflicted with a disease that could be contagious and life threating to our country's population and that the couple are not involved with human trafficking.

Why the CO took it upon themselves to decline the visa is beyond me. But, we know little about the process that one has to muster in that Embassy. So, in the end it's hard for me to say whether the CO was right in their decision. They are trained to uncover a bogus visa application and therefor my thought is that there was something else there we do not know. This ranks with the old "two sides of the coin" conversation.

I think you are over reaching here and it looks like you have your bases covered. You may want to consider a letter from the parents giving the marriage their blessing. That in of itself can hold a lot of weight if the CO is on the fence with their decision if age is a factor at your Embassy.

The Philippines require a letter from the parents giving permission for marriage for all females under 25. I have not heard of anyone processing through the PI (Philippines) [now I feel I must spell out acronym - thanks kiklyut <_< ] that was denied because of age gap. There have been cases where there are gaps of 45 years between the male and female and they were approved.

And you might P_ _ _ them off and you will wait and wait and wait.... If it were me I would rethink what you are about to do. They don't want a ton of stuff that says the same thing over and over. They want a few documents that will show that you two are a couple and the meaning of your relationship is one that is being perused because of love. You don't need many documents to show that. Just my experience, do as you please.

This might help you along the way. This is the letter that I used and the documents that I sent. Simple and to the point. No RFE's for this step.

http://dennyeyberg.wix.com/filipino-am-visa#!i-129f-letter/cqq1

That is what I sent in with my I-129f as well. While I will not print off all 4200 (and still counting) pages of texts I think I will definitely bring at least 100 that include samples from each year. Thank you for your input.

All the same that would be funny to plop down a giant stack of papers on the consulate officers desk. "Oh, you want proof of an ongoing relationship...heeeeeeere ya go. Have a nice read!"

Thanks! She is 26 years of age. So, yes I am being too jumpy.

But to be on the safe side, I'll ask and see if she can get a note from Mom and Dad.

45 years gap? dang :sleepy:
