Hello there!
I've been reading along the forum for a while; but now I'm kinda panicking and I decided to register and ask myself to ease my spirit.

We sent our I-129 in the beginning of October, and received the NOA1 on October 13th.

The fact is: before starting this whole thing we already decided I was going to visit him for about 80 days (November 23rd to February 10th) - fortune or misfortune of unemployment, got a lot of free time. I therefore bought the ticket and everything, "reassured" by reading it would have taken months and months. The fact is: our case ended up in California, and everything seems it could be REALLY REALLY FAST. What if I'm still in the US when we get at the point I should get my interview? What should I do?
I'm really puzzled and tendentially scared.

Moreover: I didn't think I could not be accepted in because of the K1 going on; will they check at the airport? Should I not mention I'm in a pending K1?
I mean, I need to see my important one; I've been looking forward to this way before we decided to proceed.
Maybe I'm just overworrying, any word of wisdom?

Hi...

Firstly i personally think its a bad idea to not mention not being a K1 applicant at any Port Of Entry. Im not aware if they have these things on record but being that this is the United States i highly think they do.

Judging that you are a October filers chances are that you will have your interview before February, i have been reading and currently September filers are going towards their interview or have had interviews.

In my opinion you will need to be in your country so you can swiftly respond to any request by the embassy such as medical, police records, no impediment as such. Im not sure if you can get these done before leaving or without the package from the embassy.

After your Noa2 things go by very quickly so maybe take a shorter trip check the progress and head home in time to get these done. This is my personal advice im sure someone will chime in some expert advice.

Pomgranet, no issue. You are good to come to USA. You are coming to USA for the purpose of the visa you are traveling on, not K1.

When it's time for interview you'll have to go back to interview there.

Yes it will probably happen faster than expected, a good thing.

@ pomegade why would you hAve to mention your K-1 if you are there on another visa. They don't have to no your future plans, just be back in time for interview and other things they may ask for.

Make it simple. No guessing. Go to the embassy where you got your tourist (?) visa, and ask them straight up.

If it were me, I'd spend Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new year holidays with my fiance if given the chance. Then go back after new years. Then you got some great pictures for proof of on-going relationship, and of course the time of being together. You will never get this time back, and you don't know if tomorrow will ever come, so why waste it.

So go ask to keep your conscious clear.

By the way, I won't ask at the port of entry, it is too late at that point. Those guys won't know, and so you'll have a 50% chance of failure because they don't know. And then you'll be detained, and put back on a plane. Which may look bad. Better to find out in advance.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll make the right decision.
