Not to mention, there were a few girls that didn't settle, and this case went to court a few years ago. There is video evidence. I've seen it. And he still got acquitted.

Ok. So I've watched this thread for awhile and haven't commented mainly because its devolved into a general bashing of religion.

The one thing I noticed from the OP, they are claiming discrimination for this. Whilst I am no fan of Catholicism, generally they work with the police don't they? At least in the modern era. I haven't heard of a priest claiming he has been discriminated against.

We're more worried about what someone is trying to say with an article than what the article is saying. I think that's what makes it hard for new people to join. Too much of a learning curve. If someone agrees this is dispicable, they're immediately lumped in with the "i told you so" op.

as long as the same posters are generating the content, i wouldn't expect new participants. right now this forum is lucky to get a handful of responses from the regular bunch. past couple days are pretty active in comparison to the past few weeks. should regulars go away or come back?

That's because it's not about the act itself, but those who committed the act. Discussing the horrible actions of these people wouldn't be a problem if those who posted this would do so without painting the entire demographic as one and the same.

As for the retort, it's childish, but so is generalization. I pointed out the Catholic scandal to highlight what's already known. These things aren't exclusive to just one group of people. But according to VJ, nothing bad happens within the majority. Ever.
