Hi Everyone!

I'm a USC , I'm sponsoring my mom to live over here in the US, on August 28th I got an email from NVC saying that they have received all the supporting documents for my mom , and as soon as an interview date is schedule they will let me know. Does anybody have any idea how long the wait might be for cambodian embassy until she can interview? It's been 2 months now. I don't know how can I check the status at this point, and also does my mom need to bring her marriage certificate to the interview for this IR5 application?. Thanks

I don't think she needs to bring a marriage certificate (that's only required for children petitioning for fathers).

According to the spreadsheet, looks like Cambodia is pretty up to date. You may get a December interview:

Sort the country of interview by A to Z and you can find it easily.

CR-1 IR-1 cases takes forever to schedule interview at this embassy but K-1 very fast. My wife had to wait about 7 months after NVC procedure completed back in 2013. I also know a lot of similar cases that took them between 5 to 7 months to get interview. On the other hand back in 2011, it took less then a month after approval (NOA2) from USCIS to get scheduled for interview of my wife. She was my fiancé then so it was K-1. I think yours will be treated like CR-1/IR-1 so expect to be scheduled in about 5/6 months from NVC complete date. I think Cambodia is one of those country that takes longer then any other countries to be scheduled this type of cases.

I couldn't find any Cambodia , I must have missed it

Simply call NVC and ask them if your Mom has the interview date yet. Then keep calling, say, each week, if you think you can miss the P4 letter from them. P4 is the invitation for the interview, so, if you get the date and the letter does not arrive within a week, request a new one, for it will be your Mom's pass to the embassy.

You can check US Embassy website regularly by case number for interview schedule. Here is the link http://cambodia.usembassy.gov/scheduled_appointments.html

You can also call NVC inquire about it regularly but like I said it will be probably 3/4 months longer you will know the date of the interview. Every country is different and also visa category also different even in same country. NVC will tell you they have nothing to do with the interview date. As soon as US Embassy have available date, they will schedule it and if you contact US Embassy, they will tell you they are waiting for NVC to forward your case to embassy. I went through this looping around personally in 2013 and thought I was the unfortunate one. But later found out it is normal for this embassy. Average time to get interview date(Date only, actual interview probably 2 months away from the day you know it) after NVC procedure done is 5 to 7 months. K-1 of course faster because it skips NVC.

I called the NVC , they said they have already transfer the documents to te embassy, they can't do anything at this point, it sucks because I can't check the statusNor

Normally NVC send you an email notification when they send cases to Phnom Penh embassy along with interview date which also works as interview appointment card. Of course if you signed up for email only correspondence. Anyway good news is your case moved faster then most cases. You can go to this link to find interview appointments by case number. http://cambodia.usembassy.gov/scheduled_appointments.htmlIf you don't see it there keep checking everyday. You can also email US embassy inquire about it. Good luck.
