Sydney 221g processing time

Hi all,

I returned a 221g request to the Sydney Consulate last Friday. Australia Post reported delivery on Monday morning (10am).

However, since then (it is now Wednesday) there has been no date update on the ceac site and no contact from the consulate.

I'm wondering how long it usually takes for the consulate to go through the mail and allocate it to a case (which would update the date on the ceac site). Is 3 days a long time for this? Should I start worrying that maybe the document has gone missing?

I understand the mail is delivered offsite to the Consulate so you need to factor in a day or two for it to actually get to the site where it is processed. I don't think there is any cause for concern yet.

Just to update - case was touched late afternoon on the 28/10.

Can only assume this indicates them adding the document to my file.

So 2.5 days from when Australia Post reported delivery for anyone who might be interested in such things in the future.

Thank you for this information.

I was wondering how you would check if it was touched? I had to submit the correct Police check and sent it via registered post. Aus Post tracking tells me that it was delivered on Monday 16/11. Im a nervous wreck waiting.

Hi,

There is no way of checking this. this is just the time it took them to send me an e-mail from when I knew it was delivered.

It will be fine, just be patient.

Good luck!
