[ Q ] next step/s after CFO and terminating PH permanent resident visa

Hi guys! Just two quick questions:

(1) CEAC says Issued. That means once passport is delivered, all I need to do is the PDOS seminar on CFO and get tickets?

(2) after we got married, we have decided that my wife (USC) would get a Philippine permanent resident visa so she can stay long. I know that this is a US immigration site but thought I'd ask anyway just in case somebody knows the answer to my question which is, are there any paperwork in terminating her PH permanent residency besides getting ECC? Any other items we should file with BI? We are thinking we would just get balikbayan stamp when we want to visit.

Thanks in advance!

1) Not PDOS. GCP http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2334:frequently-asked-questions-on-cfo-guidance-and-counseling-program&catid=110:frequently-asked-questions&Itemid=858

2) Never dealt with resident visa for the Philippines, we simply do the balikbayan stamp for extended stays (up to one year).

It's a good thing I asked then, I thought it was PDOS. Anything else after that?

Regarding balikbayan stamp, do one need a return ticket immediately like when going here with a tourist visa? This will be a handy future reference.

Thanks again!

complete GCP get the certificate, after you have the visa get the sticker in the passport ... ready to travel.

No you do not need a return ticket, you do need to enter the Phils with your spouse, they stamp your passport, date it for the year and you are good. (stay one day short of that year) If you are staying in the Phils for more than a year, simply do a weekend trip to HK with your spouse one day short of the year and get another stamp upon entry into the Phils again.

Great! I was hoping for that. Thanks Hank. I just hope all airlines are knowledgeable on balikbayan stamp. Coming here, we have to argue with EVA. The guy was asking for a return ticket even though my wife has permanent residency visa.

For anybody else who happen to have insights on my second question, please feel free to respond.

Yes the airlines are the pothole in the road (always) as their knowledge level is minimal at best.

One way to step around that airlines issue is buy a second flight (Hong Kong or such) for cheap and toss it later, this removes them from the equation.
