Hi all,

For taxes, my husband and I got married Aug 25 2014. For his taxes that year he filed single in the US (since we were only married 4 months of that year). I on the other hand filed married, in Canada, because that is where we got married. For our 2015 taxes, we will both be filing as married. His concern now is that his health insurance rate will change since he is now filing as married, and he will have to pay for health insurance for a spouse that is not even living in the country. So please be aware of that, if it is an issue for you or your spouse.
