Kind of hard to track online cases if they don't update their site. There are at least 2-3 people on here saying they've received an approval letter but the case check says received still.

Possibly but I've read on other forms with different types of forms people have had the same deal (USCIS). I'm sure they will update eventually.

So my case was approved on 08/11/2016. My priority date was 06/17/2016. No update on the website but I have received a mail approval notice.

I guess I just have to wait for the letter in the mail :clock: My priority date is very recent so I have a while

So update on my case. I filed a congressional inquiry with my congresswoman for being over the 6 month deadline. A few days later, on Aug 5th I get a call in the morning from her office, guy tells me they've talked to USCIS and a background check was completed on July 27th and as of August 3rd someone has been assigned to my case and I should find out more information within 30 days; otherwise to check back with them. I thanked him, told him the background check is usually bogus, but we will see.

I don't wait 30 days, not gonna fall for that, not when they've had 6 months. So I called a few times, managed to have them put in another inquiry. Yesterday I talked to tier 2, guy tells me it's pending and that I should do a congressional inquiry. I told him already done that. Today I get a call back from USCIS as a response to my inquiry. They tell me there is a background check going on and that's the FBI and they can take as much time as possible to check it out and there's no other information.

So, in conclusion, USCIS lied to either me or the congresswoman's office. If I were a betting man, I'd say the congresswoman's office just to save face and say they're doing something. I'd also say there's a good chance the background check is bogus, and is just an excuse for them to lollygag on things.

I do believe there will be a lawsuit filed in my near future. I record all of my calls and can prove they gave out conflicting information to both me and a congresswoman's office.

Your issue is very very similar to mine. So it's been a year since I applied and since February the USCIS has been telling my congressman that I'm undergoing back ground check. When I contact them they tell that an officer has my file and that I shoukd recieve something in 60 days from the date they sent me that letter. So i called my congressman yesterday and told him that it's been way too long and that they're telling me different things than they're telling him. So he Said he'll contact them and let me know what they tell him. I'm hoping they move on with our cases and stop lying to us. Please keep us posted with your case.

My advise to you is don't give up and don't waste time hoping that you'll get something. you're past the processing time so annoy them and do all it takes to get your approval.

Thank you. Best of luck to you

I raised an expedite request and I was told that my case has already been assigned to an officer and that I should hear back within 30 days . This email came on July 26 and my PD is June 10. Seeing all these approvals makes me wonder if it was true the case is with an officer. I am waiting for the 30 days to hit in 2 days and call back. Hoping I will not have to and get approval soon :(

We got our NOA2 in the mail on Saturday!!!!! :D Our NOA1 was April 25th and I've noticed most people around late April are getting approved. If you're around that date, you can probably expect to get something within the next few weeks.

I'd like to think they go in chronological order but my PD date was June 17th and I've already been approved on the 11th. Still waiting for NVC to receive my case though.

I do not believe you can continue the process; the second part of the process - the NVC stage - involves getting financial information from the US citizen/resident to prove that you will not fall on the government's hands to take care of. Without a US citizen, I don't see how you'd be able to prove that. You are better off applying for the visa lottery or a normal immigration visa.
