Well it is easy. I have heard that people who are US Citizens and file for i-130, their case is faster compared to Green holder (we are talking about petitioners). So I have two questions basically as I am trying to figure out if being a US Citizen makes a difference and also from where the case was filed. I mean I just want to understand that beside the officer who deals with our cases, what other factors make the process different for each person. It is quite possible that our state of resident makes a different, as in those who filed from abroad have had their approvals before those who filed from the US and then USC had faster response time than green card holders.

I am also starting to wonder if spouse being in the US makes a difference. It is really inconsistent with the way they have been responding each case. I am just trying to figure out their (USCIS officers') thought process.

These are all assumptions, I do not know if anything is true or not. Just trying to understand them.

I was told being a USC makes a difference. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but it's a pattern I've seen within my own family. I've seen cases within my family where the USC will petition for their spouse/child/parent and their case is processed much more quickly than that of a green card holder doing the same process. I have also seen cases within my family get bumped up once a green card holder becomes a USC.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the application to be sent to NVC. Its been 30 days and NVC say they haven't received my case and to wait at least 35 days before calling. Once they receive the file (36th day), it takes 42 days for the case no to be allocated. Is that true?

Same thing with my I-130 got approved On April 12, 2016.

On April 20, 2016 we sent your case, Receipt Number SRC##########, to the Department of State for visa processing.

I call the NVC. 3 days ago they receive on April 24, 2016 but can take 4 weeks. To they send you the invoice with the payments process. And pin number.

At Least your timeline on USCIS website got updated. Mine still says "your case was approved".

So, our case apparently skipped over the e-notification of the approval to "sent to Department of State"....

NOA 1: 2/25

Sent to NVC: 5/5

What now, where exactly do I check for the next steps etc? I'm still a bit shocked because I really didn't expect it. Accordingt VJ we should have received the NOA2 between May 16 and 24 or so...
