Hello,

I'd like to know if, in order to find out if we have tuberculosis, they only do an xray or if they also do a skin test.

I was previously in that situation in the US where I was positive when they did a skin test but then when they did an xray they realized I did not have anything.

I am a little worried about that. Can anyone tell me how they usually proceed?

Also, apart from the xray and the blood test, are there other exams?

Thanks in advance for your help!

They x-ray your lungs for TB. Then they check your eyes, listen to your lungs and heart, take your blood pressure, the doctor feels your stomach, throat etc. And then you answer a bunch of questions about tattoos, piercings, medical history etc. Finally a blood test to check for syphilis plus do any required vaccinations that you haven't shown a vaccination record for, alternatively take a blood test to show immunity. Think that's it. :)

Edit: In some countries, they make you drop your pants so they can see your genitals, I guess to confirm that you're a man or a woman. I doubt they'll do that in France though. They don't in Scandinavia.

So I guess I had no reason to worry :D

Yes I have read that in some countries they do check the genitals. As you said, it is unlikely they do that here. Well hope not at least! :)

Thanks a lot for your detailed answer!!! :)
