Hi !

Tomorrow I am going to get my vaccinations before the medical, so I won't have to pay for it at the medical it self. But now I am getting confused with wich vaccinations I need.

I thought I found the list here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/vaccinations.html

But Now I just read in another topic dat we don't need hep a and b for example. Can anyone tell me or give me a link with the exact vaccinations I need?

Thank you !

I contacted the doctor doing my examination and asked specifically for what vaccinations I needed. I'd suggest you do the same -- the doctor will know. What vaccinations you need depends on your age and where you're from from what I understand.

For K1 visa you do not need vaccinations, however for down the road process(AOS, etc) you do need.

This is the list: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/vaccinations.html

It is easier and most time cheaper to get them done before/at K1 medical, but you do not have to.

Thanks Zedayn! I came across that table last week while I was looking through guides on the medical but I forgot to bookmark that page with the table so that I could take it to my GP. You have saved me from having to hunt through the CDC website all over again!

All of those are not required. They are age specific, depend on disease history(varicella), or are season(flu shot).

The link in the post above yours is correct.

Most people will need at least one shot in a series of MMR, Tdap/TD, varicella(unless you already had chickenpox), and a flu shot (during flu season Oct. - Mar.). That is it.

Hep A/B is only required if you are at higher risk. I did a lot of research because I know I haven't had those jabs!

  • 2 weeks later...

Does anyone know if you had MMR as a child, do you need to do it again?

I asked this specific question during my medical. According to the doctor, yes you do need it again. So I got sick as a kid and stuck with a needle as an adult.
