HELP!! Wife interviewed at Montreal, nothing and no help from them!!

Hi,

I am a US Citizen and my wife and stepson have been going through this process for some time now, mainly due to no interview or medical dates.

HOWEVER, they finally had their interview in mid-July at Montreal and all went well, got the letter saying "Welcome to the United States....." and the officer took their passports and said they should receive their visas shortly. The letter they got said "should see documents in 8-10 days". It is almost end of October and nothing!

I have emailed them and just got back what appear to be standard form replies. I have spoken to them, or what just appears to be a call center with predefined answers. They say to check the website(s). I regularly check https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-CA/iv/users which says nothing but interview scheduled for July and Loomis address location for return.

I check https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx this say's "READY and to now schedule interview and prepare documents"!! Although status update date does change once in a while but not since September 02.

The last time I called all I was told was their applications were in "Administrative Processing" and to check the websites again!!!

How long does this take for them to get their visa?? I had to move back to the US for work in January '15 and they have been left in Canada causing hardship and grief for us.

We are all at our wit's end from the frustration etc. and it's becoming very straining. To make matters worse a co-worker married a Canadian and their wife received her visa from Montreal in 12 days from interview back in February '15!!!!!!!

Any help / advice would be great as we do not know where to turn.

I am in the exact same position. My interview was July 21st.

Did you contact your senator yet? We did, but honestly he hasnt been much help so far. Its worth a try for you though.

That was their exact same date also!

My Senator was going to be the next step as well as letters to NVC and Montreal and possibly even a lawyer! We are pulling our hair out over this. I have been going through this forum and finding people who interviewed at MTL in AUG & SEP and have visas and entered the US already.

Yep, I have seen that too.

Let me know how your letter work but it seems that there might be something up with the cases on our date. Maybe an internal error? I was told that my case was completely fine and I don't need to send in any additional files. They just needed to check something out. They haven't looked at my file since October 2nd though.

Right now, we had contacted our senator again and asked him to push further to see what is happening because they answer they had initially given us was pretty half assed. Basically, it told us just to chill out and its still in admin.

It does sound fishy that both of our cases are still in admin and we had interviews on the same date.

It does sound funny as both sites have not even changed to Admin Processing which is what I have been told and that "All is fine relax". It's hard to "relax" when you can't get a straight answer, see others get their Visas etc. Just wish you could speak to someone in authority who could give some sort of straight answer.

Will certainly post if I hear something.

Sounds like what is happening with mine and another member's passports from interviews on Oct 7. Dear god I hope we don't have to wait months. I hate how there is no one to talk to about this. I've emailed the consulate but no luck yet.

I did my K1 interview in 2010 (we moved back, and now are returning to the US so I need a new Visa, kids are dual), and I had my passport back in less than two weeks. My husband already moved our belongings in January and we were staying in the US until the end of Sept, so we literally just have a suitcase of stuff with us and are NOT prepared for Canadian winter. I just packed a few things since I assumed it would be a quick trip.

See profile for our K-1 Visa/AOS story from 2010-2011Apparently we love USCIS/NVC so much we left and are doing it again! This time giving IR-1 a whirl. Rock on immigrators.

12/30/2014 Case received by NVC

03/23/2015 Received Case and Inv # from NVC after many calls and bogus excuses.

03/24/2015 AOS payment accepted by NVC

04/09/2015 IV payment finally accepted by NVC after the set the wrong fee and took weeks to correct it.

*many more delays thanks to the agency processing my fingers prints to the RCMP and the post office losing our mail*

05/20/2015 Packet sent to NVC via UPS, eta May 28.

06/16/2015 Baby #2 due - homebirth in Scottsdale, AZ
