so my interview is in 2 days, I suddenly realised this morning that I had no idea where my birth certificate is.. had a massive panic attack, cried, but I after looking, I can order a new one and collect it in the morning. (phew)

except now this has me panicking and thinking everything is going to go wrong and i'm not going to have the right things with me.

can someone who has recently had their interview in London list the things I need to make sure I have to take, so that I can go over everything and try to calm myself down a little!

Thanks in advance

Their instructions say to bring copies, however all this year they have told people on the day that they don't want the photocopies. They do hand back the originals before you leave so make sure you get them. I always suggest to not run out the door all excited afterward, but take a moment in the waiting area to make sure you got everything ...like your birth certificate or other personal documents you will need again. And also think if you have any questions. Much easier to resolve while you're inside rather than asking on VJ after you have travelled home. That's especially true for the few who are asked to supply something additional that they forgot to bring. Some leave and have no idea what they are supposed to do.

Its a kind of generic statement, bring originals and copies

Really depends what you submitted, originals or copies

Basically take all the originals and copies of them, they will definately want to see the originals, they tick them off against the copies you already submitted

I took all my originals and a copy of each, they only looked at the originals

But I like most people got myself in a panic, so my advice is to take copies as well, if only to stop yourself getting in a tizz lol

The London embassy is probably the easiest, but for piece of mind take everything, at least you will leave happy when you are approved, but feel daft for all the paperwork you took lol

Our K1 application is READY when I log onto the NVC site. So that means the UK Embassy has our approved petition in hand. They will mail the "packet" to my fiance's house.

My question:

In the UK there is that "application of readiness" or whatever it's called you submit before scheduling the interview. Part of that process is having the medical exam scheduled. I have been reading that you have to have the medical before you can even attempt to schedule the interview. But other places it says you just have to show that it is scheduled. Which one is it???

Also, how long did you have to wait for your interview after scheduling it?

From then, how long until you had the visa in hand ready to travel?

Thanks for all your help, this website is awesome!

You don't get to schedule your interview. You will be assigned a date and time. Read this explanation which is in the pinned London guide at the top of the forum. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide-do-not-post-questions-in-thread/?p=6741238 Ignore the last paragraph (Tips) as that is no longer correct.

Look at these threads to know how long. You will notice it varies. Go to the last post for cumulative data.
