This question is related to a prevoius post I made here:

necessary/unnecessary on I-134

I got some pretty good answers on that thread, but I was also advised that different consulates sometimes request different pieces of information, so I thought I would see if anyone else who has applied for a K-1 visa in japan could give me some help based on their own experience.

Basically, I'm wondering if there is any info that either wasn't requested in the I-134 instructions (or based on the instructions wasn't absolutely necessary), but that the Japanese consulate deemed necessary in the interview. As stated in the other topic, I have a more than sufficient income to qualify as able to support my fiance, so I was planning to forget about the bank statement and just include the letter from my employer, as well as possibly a few pay stubs, and w-2.

Did anyone else have an experience where the bank statements, or a tax return were absolutely required (and you were not self-employed)? My fiance will be interviewing at the consolate in Okinawa, which may be different from the others, but any account of applying in Japan would be helpful.

Thanks for the help!
