Hello all,

I'm not sure where, but I read that a common reason for visa denial is problems with addresses. This is a question I have had for some time now. My Fiance's address in the Phillipines does not have a street number, just a street name in a numbered Purok. I asked her about the street number and she said there isn't one. How can a letter from the embassy get there? Is this common that there are no street numbers? It's a fairly large city. If there should be a street number, how would I or she determine what it is? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Thanks,

No a problem. My wife didn't have a street number either. Usually if it's in a province they will call the reciepient before they deliver it to make sure the person is there.

Yeah we just have purok, brgy but there should be a house number though. Like 123 Gomez(this is the street), Purok 1, Angeles City, Pampanga.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

Never had a problem with postal, ups, dhl, fedex, psa(nso) delivering without actual house address. Address has always been purok 3, Sitio...., ..... Bgy, ect. Same address used for I-130, drivers license, postal card, nbi, passport, etc.

This is because neighbors knows each other so well that if fedex, ups, dhl, or whoever carrier comes, they could just ask anyone on the street to find the correct house of the person they are looking for. :)

Not sure where you read that, but I have never heard of the address for the beneficiary being an issue for being issued a visa. Yes it is somewhat common for some homes to NOT have a house number. Don't worry about it.

Nothing mailed from the embassy is of importance, everything for the visa process is done online. Follow the flashing arrow below.

Now it IS important to have your address correct, and it IS important for your fiancee to know your address for the interview.

Being your fiancee has no exact address for visa delivery after the interview I would suggest you have the visa package delivered to the nearest 2GO office for your fiancee to retrieve from there.

Thanks alot Hank,

This is good information and thanks very much for the link! One question; At what point in the process do we specify where the visa is sent? The 2GO office sounds like a great option.

You setup the delivery on the USGTRAVELDOCS when you complete your profile. You will also have a chance to change delivery after the interview, 24 hr. limit on this.
