Yes u are right.cos my case state is not changed.plus thy did not mention in latter. They said ur case I'll b on hold untill u send items to us. Our joint sponsor are 4 person .they made together 32k a year. Husban wife and 2 kids.my wife makes 16000 a year.does my joint sponsor need to add me too.?

I am sorry Kiwan I am not 100% sure about the form I-864 as I filled the I-864EZ and we have a column in 864EZ that states "Yourself and the person you are sponsoring on this form" and it is defaulted to 2 so that means we need to include the person you are sponsoring too so in your case you have your wife and your sponsor so the question is do your sponsor need to include in their household size to check the poverty guide lines.

So as per the 2015 Poverty Guidelines even though if the person who is sponsoring add's you to their household size you should be good. and technically you need to be counted in both households as your wife and your sponsor need to meet the guidelines.

Kiwan read all the instructions carefully and fill out the form.

PERSONS IN FAMILY/HOUSEHOLD POVERTY GUIDELINE For families/households with more than 8 persons, add $4,160 for each additional person. 1 $11,770 2 $15,930 3 $20,090 4 $24,250 5 $28,410 6 $32,570 7 $36,730 8 $40,890

I am not sure how does the Social Security income works. Poverty guidelines are national level not state level.

Is this social security retirement income? If so, you can include it in her income even though it is tax free.

If it's any type of federal assistance then it won't count.

Are you saying her income with be $16620 + [12 x $1385]?? Or is the social security already included in the 16k?

I see. Ok, so she needs $19,912 to be able to sponsor you and she has $16,620.

You can try and make up the difference by using assets [cash, stocks, property].

So, $19,912 - $16,620 = $3,292 and you need to multiply by this 3 since its for a spouse, $3,292 x 3 = $9,876

If you have assets that total $9,876 then you won't even need a joint sponsor.

I don't understand the part of that u said about 3292 x 3. Why is that. Yes we are 3292 behind to reach poverty lines.thats why we used a joint sponsor.now joint sponsor is married hav a wife and 2 kinds, husband and wife make together 32k .nvc said it's also not enough ,cos joint sponsor family have to also include me.cos its up to counselor office if they combine mine wife and joint sponsor family income, wife don't have any kind of assets.

I see, when using assets, if you have three times the difference then it'll work. But, you are saying she doesn't have assets so there's no point in including it.

At this point, I would say to complete the forms properly as the checklist notes and send it whatever else they ask for. Then, it'll be up to the CO.

Make sure you calculate the household size correctly, since that seems like the biggest thing on your checklist.

Ok, for your wife's I-864:

Part 3/Number 28: You'll enter 1.

This will automatically fill in Part 5/Number 1: 1.

Part 5/Number 2 is already completed as 1 and the total in Part 5/Number 8 is 2. That's it for your wife.

For your joint sponsor:

Part 3/Number 28: 1

Part 5/Number 1: 1 [automatically]

Part 5/Number 2: 1 [automatically]

Part 5/Number 3: 1

Part 5/Number 4: 2

Everything else, numbers 5-7 should be 0. Then for your joint sponsor, total household size should be 5.

We reviewed the documents you submitted to us. This letter has a list of documents that are missing or

that need additional information. Please review the instructions on the attached pages.

The instructions will ask you to either:

 Send the missing or corrected items to the applicant so he or she can take them to the visa interview.

 Send the missing or corrected items to the National Visa Center (NVC) and include a copy of the

Case Number Barcode Cover Sheet. Clearly write your on the

upper right-hand corner of every document you send. After you email or mail the requested

information, allow us 30 days to review your response. When we complete our review, we will send

you information about the next processing step.

We reviewed your I-864, I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A Affidavit of Support form and supporting financial

documents. We found that you didn't provide all the necessary supporting documents or you had

incomplete information or you missed some questions on the Affidavit of Support form(s).

On the attached Affidavit of Support checklist, we have put an "X" by each item you need to correct. Go

to the Department of State's website at http://nvc.state.gov/aosandfollowtheinstructions for the

Affidavit of Support form(s). From there, you can fill out a new form, sign, and send the form(s) to the

NVC. We require an Affidavit of Support form for each case regardless of your income level.

Your case is on hold until you send us the items we need. When you return the documents and

completed Affidavit of Support form(s) to the NVC, please make sure that the documents are in the

correct order, as stated in the I-864 Important Notice instructions.

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this

letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar

code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the

address provided.

We reviewed your I-864, I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A Affidavit of Support form and supporting financial

documents. While we will schedule your case for an interview, either your Affidavit of Support was

incomplete, some of your supporting documents were missing, or both. This could affect the Consular

Officer's ability to make a decision on your case.

On the attached Affidavit of Support Assessment Letter, we have put an "X" by each item you need to

correct. Go to the Department of State's website at http://nvc.state.gov/aosandfollowtheinstructions for

the Affidavit of Support form(s).

If your Affidavit of Support form(s) needs correction:

 Fill out a new form(s) online.

 Print, sign and send the original form(s) to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the

visa interview. Do not send the updated form(s) to the NVC.

If we are missing required supporting documents:

 Send the missing documents to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the visa

interview. Do not send the documents to the NVC.

The NVC will send your case to the processing U.S. Embassy or Consulate General. Please make sure

that the documents you take to your interview are in the correct order and stapled together, as stated in

the I-864 Important Notice instructions.

Form I-864: Assessment Letter for __ME_______

The National Visa Center (NVC) recently reviewed your I-864 Affidavit of Support form. The

Affidavit of Support form had one or more sections with missing or incorrect information or

was missing required supporting documents, or both.

Please review the instructions below to complete a new Affidavit of Support form or to obtain

the missing supporting documents. Send the corrected Affidavit of Support form or original

documents that are missing to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the

immigrant visa interview. You should also send photocopies of the Affidavit of Support form

to the principal applicant for each traveling family member to take to the visa interview.

Failure to take the original documents and copies for each traveling family member to the visa

interview can cause processing delays. The Consular Officer will review the corrected form

and documents at the time of the interview.

You do not need to contact the NVC at this time. Also, do not send an updated I-864 Affidavit

of Support form or documents to the NVC. After we schedule the immigrant visa interview, we

will send you an appointment letter.

If you need a new I-864 Affidavit of Support form, you can find it at uscis.gov/forms.
